What is the Promotion?
Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and update existing or create listings to allow for free 30-day returns (seller pays return shipping with no restocking fees) will be eligible to have eBay pay return shipping costs for Eligible Listings sold during the Promotion Period and returned for remorse reasons during the Promotion Period and for 40 days thereafter.
I hope a lot of sellers are getting this promo, so we can try out free returns and see if it increases our return percentage. I think that's why eBay is running the promo. They don't think anything is really going to change, so the are footing the bill for a month. Will it work? Who knows, but its gotten me to change my return policy... at least for a month.

I should have known. I am completely against anything free - nothing in life is free ebay! I got the email and decided to accept the offer - the terms are pretty vague - I called in and was told anything sold through and returned August. below are screen shots of what I recieved....

TAKE NOTE - SPECIFICALLY STATES "NOW THROUGH AUGUST"
By the logic - one would think anyone opting into the promo by Jun 15th is covered for any free returns for buyers remorse thru august 31st, but it DOESN'T SPECIFICALLY say that!!!
I ENCOURAGE ALL INVITED SELLERS THAT OPT IN, TO CALL IN AND MAKE SURE THEY NOTE YOUR ACCOUNT REGARDING THAT DISTINCTION....

@mysticlake007I read that too remorse returns are covered for only 2 weeks and after that if they return it because the found a better price or it didn't fit or another reason besides they changed their mind it is still covered until the end of August. Also I figured out that you won't get any money back until September or October when they have the payout and then only $200.00 per account. So we are going to try it at least until we reach $200.00 to see if it really gives us a boost in sales.

We are trying it too but only until we get to the $200.00 max label payback which if I read this right will be given as a rebate in September or October. We weren't going to do it all except first class but we will see if we really do get a increase in sales or not.

Like I said, I wasn't going to do it and even pretty much told ebay what I thought of it and them (with plenty of expletives) when they called me asking me to switch. I'll try it out for now and see how fast that $200 vanishes.... As for your comment about remorse returns only being 2 weeks, EXACTLY where did you read that? Not an ebay source right???

That is what is confusing about it....the two week period until June 15. Does this mean that an item with the Free Return policy attached to it that sells on June 16 and the buyer later wants to return it, it will NOT be covered with a free return label paid by ebay? Are we only getting two weeks of sales being covered? If so, that isn't much of a test to see if free returns works for you or not!

According to the guy I spoke with on the phone, it would apply until August - but he didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about. This was someone IN THE USA that I was transfered to in seller development... I'm going to call back in a few days and see if they are any better verse in this, as I did call them immediately after they sent out the email and he had no idea about it until I told him!!!

I have a funny feeling it's ONLY going to apply to sales through 06/15/18 - So I'm already prepared to change back to 14 days & Buyer pays and 11:59pm PST. If ebay wants to cover the expense - fine - but I'm not going to!
