Hello, I need some advice. I had purchased a watch in which was claimed as Genuine Authentic and the pictures in the auction were of an Authentic watch, but upon delivery the watch I received was not Authentic, I initiated a return and asked for Refund or and Authentic watch.

The seller respond 2 days later and tells me this: Hello dear buyer, We are ready to dispatch your replacement watch Kindly close the return request so we can go ahead and send you the watch and will provide you tracking Thanks and regards.

What should I do? Should I close the case or should the case stay open until I received the replacement? I have never had to deal with this resolution center so am not sure on how to proceed. Thanks in advance for any help.

I should have been clearer.

If you close the case, you won't get a replacement and you won't get a refund.

Do NOT close the return request! And IMO, you shouldn't let the seller send the "replacement" because it's going to be fake too.

Respond that you won't close the case until you get a full refund. And if necessary, escalate the case for ebay to decide if the seller doesn't comply.

Thank you for  your input,  That's what I had feared that if I close I wont receive either Refund or Replacement. The seller has great feedback of 100% and I actually had made 2 purchase for 2 different watches, 1 of them was deliver from California which I verified to be original and the other was shipped from NY which was verified to be fake. That's why I asked them for a Authentic replacement or Refund if they don't have an Authentic one.

I just message the seller and told him/her that I will not be able to close the case until the case is fully resolved.

Wait for others but if someone shipped me a fake that was listed as authentic IMO they get three strikes all at once and I would escalate the case and ONLY accept a full refund. Agree with Alberta. You bought from a dishonest seller. Get your money back.

Thanks for your input, the replacement was also fake. I did noticed this seller may have some sort of connection with someone from ebay and is out scamming a lot of people.

Reason being is after I purchased the watch, I noticed the seller had received 2 negative feedbacks and they were both for FAKE watch, Next day I look at the seller and the 2 feedbacks were gone. After I received the other Fake one, I escalated the claim and got my money back and proceed to leave a negative feedback, next day I log into ebay and my negative feedback was gone from his account as well. I contacted ebay and let them know this seller is violating and abusing the system, they only tell me that they will keep an eye on him.

To this date I have counted 10 Negative Feedback removed from his account and today he has 4 more negative one, which I assume they will be all gone too within a day or 2. No wonder he had 100% feedback when I bought from him and worst thing is ebay won't do anything to stop this people when they have the proof in their face, what a disgrace.

I don't know what the feedbacks said but if the buyers referred to investigations, disputes or claims, that was likely why they were removed.

I'm not sure how he's getting so many negs removed because I doubt that all the buyers are violating the feedback policy.

Something is really wrong here!

Thats what I was concerned about, my feedback said "Order watch as Aunthentic and received a Fake one, beware" next day feedback was gone without me getting a notification of revision or anything. As per ebay they may be able to remove up to 4 negative feedbacks per every 1,000 feedbacks and he only has 797 positive and has been able to remove 10 that I witness and who knpws how many more previous of me buying from him. Something is definitely sketchy there.

Let try tagging someone who might have some answers.

Why is a seller who repeatedly sells fakes, replaces fakes with another fake and receives what seem to be valid negs able to get all those negative feedbacks removed and why is the seller still allowed to peddle fakes?!?

Hi @carpartnelectronic, we do not recommend closing a claim until your issue is fully resolved - while we can still hold a seller accountable if they do not refund or replace as promised through an appeal, options may become limited if you close the claim prematurely and an appeal is not opened within our protection timeframes. We take concerns regarding authenticity very seriously and will take appropriate action if we have reason to believe a seller is selling counterfeit merchandise. When a request is opened, we record this on the seller's account and will monitor any case activity to step in and protect out Community. If you have any questions or concerns about your return request, I recommend you contact Customer Service so they can review the details and take investigate accordingly for the best recommendations for your situation.

So what you saying, if the seller refunds all the money the negative FB is removed ?

I understand and my case has been solved. My question is why are all these negative feedbacks disappearing from that seller? If I had seen negative feedbacks about watch being fake, I would not have bought a watch from this seller in the first place, but since his account had 100% feedback I trusted in buying from him as thats what the Feedback is there for. Who knows how many people he scammed already and for the same reason.

What a great way for sellers to get away with peddling fakes and not having it show!

In the olden days of ebay when ebay offered a more level playing field for both buyers AND sellers, buyers didn't get automatic automatic refunds for SNAD. So when those buyers got their refund, they were so happy that the seller did the "right" thing that they left positive feedback. (That was another way for sellers to hide their problems.)

Now when sellers issue refunds, feedback is removed? Awful, especially when it happens more than once! Obviously there's a pattern with some sellers and feedback should reflect that.

This despicable practice of removing appropriate & accurate Negs from certain sellers for no justifiable reason (and no so-called "Feedback policy" violation either) has been going on for years!

I've witnessed it myself on numerous occasions — notably on sellers of multi-list fake perfumes that I had monitored after reporting. Newly added Negs by scammed buyers would mysteriously disappear in a day Smiley Frustrated

Of course you'll never get a straight answer from eBay about it Smiley Mad
