I received a damaged item last week. It was a set of perfumed toiletries and one of the glass jars with perfumed creme was broken. I sent a message to the sender along with a picture of the item and asked for a partial refund. Since the fragrance has been discontinued, there is no way for them to replace it. I asked for a partial refund since the other items arrived intact and I want to keep them. I have not heard back from the sender, what is my next step from here?

File a return with ebay for that item saying it arrived damaged. You are also able to attach those same photos into the return that you file. The seller will have a time limit to respond to you otherwise ebay will force the refund for that one item to you at the seller's expense.

My understanding of the MBG, if your seller is not agreeable to issue a partial refund, you are required to return all items, for a full refund of your payment.

Oh, yea you're correct. I had to re-read the OP. Initially I assumed the buyer purchased the set by combining multiple purchases together. But yes, if you purchased it as one box set, you'll need to return everything to get your full (or any) refund if the seller is non responsive.

So there is no such thing as a partial refund? I have to return all the items to get a refund? In this case, only one item was damaged. I don't know where to look this up so I can see the MGB (whatever that is). Thanks

You can propose a partial refund http://paypal.com/disputes at PayPal.

If there's no response @uofuman click Escalate to PayPal to ask PayPal to consider granting the partial refund instead of a full return.
