Reimbursing part of shipping cost to buyer

I had listed an item using USPS flat rate envelope for the shipping service.  However, I am able to use USPS first class (the item including the padding materials weighed less than I had anticipated) instead, saving the buyer a little money.

The buyer has already paid for the item including the original (higher than anticipated) costs but I want to do the right thing and reimburse the "excess" cost I had charged to the buyer.

How can I do the above?

Best!

JJ

It must be nice to have a new camera!  I go with screenshots for those kind of images, but I can see why you would want to test out new skills.  Your photo is still helpful.  Nice post!

It’s great you want to save your buyer some $…but, make sure they are ok with the slower shipping.

Expedited shipping was the method offered and that's how you should ship it.  You shouldn't downgrade the method to Standard shipping unless the buyer is okay with you doing that.

Screen shots I do with a program called PrintKey2000, but it does not work for such as this because when I hit the cursor for the shot with that program the drop down window goes away😊

New camera was sort of a necessity. Well not completely, but the one that I have had for years, and have taken thousands of photos with now has a dark spot in the photos.  When taking photos I have to constantly position the camera to keep the spot away from the item being photographed.

Not a lot of $$ spent on the camera, but will make my life easier for my eBay pics.  More MP's, more zoooom, and has a rechargeable lithium battery. My Fuji goes through batteries like water. This one will pay for itself just in the cost of batteries in the next year or so.

Here is a better shot from the past for those having focus issues with my blur 😁

Re: Reimbursing part of shipping cost to buyer

1st Class is often close to the same delivery time as "some" slower services.

I shipped some items 1st Class, and 1 Priority on the same day, from the same office.

Some 1st Class were across the country, and delivered in 2 days.

The Priority took 3 days to get from one instate Regional facility to the next Regional facility in my state. Needles to say, but it did not get delivered in the expected 3 days touted by USPS.

No buyer complaint as it was actually an upgrade from the ground service paid for by the buyer.

Re: Reimbursing part of shipping cost to buyer

When I do my screenshots, I hit a combination of three different keys to be able to take the picture.  By doing that, whatever I'm looking at on the screen will freeze until after the picture is taken, so if I have a drop-down menu from having my cursor hover on it, that image will remain on the screen until I've taken my screenshot.

I'm using a Mac and if you have a different operating system you may not be able to duplicate it.  IDK, but maybe google could tell you. 😉

(p.s. I'm still a little jealous about the camera)
