If I bought an item and realized that I didn’t want it anymore because it wasn’t the actual thing and I refunded it before I received it how do I get my money back the seller also declined the refund request it says this case is closed.please help

Oh gosh!  You messed up like so many other buyers have done, sorry to see that!

While it "might" make some sense to ask for a refund before something is delivered, it is the wrong approach.  You have to be able to send something back to get a refund and because you had nothing in your hand to send back you could not get a refund.  These cases have a time limit and what happened to you is that you had a few days to get the return item scanned, and when you couldn't the case "timed out" and eBay decided in the seller's favor and closed the case.

What you could have done differently was filed a case for Item Not Received (INR).  But unfortunately you only get one bite at eBay's Money Back Guarantee so yeah a closed case is just that.

IF you used PayPal in the transaction you could request a return through them, but you'll have to pay return shipping.

Best advice is enjoy your item or sell it or donate it.

When was the item purchased?  What was the estimated delivery date?  This information should show in your Purchase History, at the very bottom in a section called "Returns and Canceled orders"

If it has not been too long then you could file a case with PayPal for Item Not Received (INR).

It was smart to use PP in your purchase on eBay as that gives you an extra layer of protection once the MBG is lost.

If the seller has a no return policy, they can deny the return for you changing your mind.
