Hi.
I purchased an item on March 23. After waiting 10 days and not having the item delivered I opened a case with Ebay who contacted the seller. The seller replied that "it must have got lost in the mail" and offered a refund.
My question is that the refund is showing as issued on my Ebay account but when I click on the PayPal link it takes me to this "We're sorry. That page doesn't seem to exist. Try one of the links at the top of your screen to get back on track."
I did not buy the item through PayPal (although the debit card I use is linked to my PayPal account and the transaction does not appear in my PayPal history). Similarly, the refund also hasn't shown up in my bank account either - it has now been 3 business days and Ebay said to wait 48 hours. As Ebay says it has issued the refund it has closed the help ticket.
What should I do now? As the seller wont respond, Ebay says it has refunded the money - but the PayPal link it provided is invalid and the refund has not shown up in my account.

If you used a debit card, the refund will go back there and it could take a few weeks or longer to show up in your account.

Refunds are not considered a high priority, unfortunately you will need to exercise more patience, & expect your refund to eventually show up.

One should never, ever link their debit card to anything.

When you pay directly at eBay Checkout with a card, that payment goes to the account eBay opened at PayPal. That's why you will see eBay and PayPal together on one line for that purchase in your card statement. And that's why that purchase is not on your PayPal account: It's at eBay's PayPal account.
So when eBay refunds your payment, it is sent from eBay's PayPal account, through PayPal's processor (PayPal is a merchant, like every other merchant who accepts cards) back to your card. And that's why the link doesn't work: Normally, that link goes to the PayPal account where you're linked to show you the refund, but this time, you'll need eBay's account name and password to log in to eBay's PayPal account to see the refund.
And indeed, eBay no longer has your payment. It's up to PayPal, on to its processor, and over to your bank to move it back into your bank account.
