HI, I would like to hear your opinion regarding the return policies that affect the sellers. We are not even able to charge a restocking fee, and when someone makes a return paypal still keeps the fee of the sale. Don't you feel that all the policies are in favor of the buyers and nothing on the seller?

Paypal only keeps a tiny transaction fee. The rest is refunded.

Yes, but those fees add up. When is the sellers responsability I understand that we have to assume it, but when it is a buyers mistake , why should we assume that fee?

Now we have threads complaining about PayPal charging 30 cents to process two financial transactions ...

Because that is the fee Paypal imposes and I don't blame them. They are processing the transaction and there is a cost to them as well. It is a minor expense to sellers that doesn't even hit my radar.

Policies that keep buyers on eBay benefit the sellers.

Yes, but those fees add up.
Over the last 20 years, my 30 cent paypal fees on refunds haven't added up to enough to buy a Happy Meal.

Yes. Exactly my point. That is what I told them today when I called.
Everything is in they’re favor. And we “ the sellers “ are the ones that are more “ loyal “ to eBay. We have stores. We list items month after month , but everything at the end is just in the buyers favors.
Isn’t there anything we can do ? Who can we talk to ? It is very frustrating.

It is not just about how much money it is. It is about policies not helping sellers also. It can’t always benefit the buyers.

Again, the best thing eBay can do to help sellers is to keep buyers here. eCommerce is extremely buyer friendly; if eBay tries to be less friendly, buyers will simply wander off, and we won't have to worry about returns because there will be no sales.

What would you like to happen in terms of policies that help sellers...specifically?

I would prefer if the policy would give an option, meaning, if the return is because the buyer changed they're mind or if they didn't like the item or if it didn't fit them , then we can charge a fee, if it is the sellers fault, like damaged item or not as described, then I understand, we assume all the cost.

So specifically you are mad that you can't charge a restocking fee?
07-23-2018 04:51 PM
I'm mad that we have to pay fees that we shouldn't be paying beacuse the buyer made a mistake on the purchase. I'm mad that they change the return policies. I'm mad that all the changes are to benefit only the buyers, never the sellers

It's only going to add up if you get a whole lot of returns.
