Processing at Consolidation Center - No updates in two weeks.

I bought an item from a seller on Nov 20th. The estimated delivery was between Dec 5th and Dec 16th. The seller was unable to ship the item until Nov 30th due to a family emergency. That's fine. The item was picked up on Dec 2nd and arrived at Consolidation Center on Dec 5th. But that's it. There have been no updates since then. It's now past the latest estimated arrival date, but I chalk that up to the seller not sending the item for 10 days. I've been googling this whole "Processing at Consolidation Center". But every post I come across is just unresolved. I have no idea if the people who had the same problem every got their packages or not.

Here's the postage history:

I just want the item I paid for. At the very least, I wanna know what's going on with the package. Is it normal to wait longer than 2 weeks for the package to be processed?  Or is the item just lost and I have to get a refund? This very frustrating.

Not yet.  But if so many people are having the same issue, then it likely means the packages aren't lost and we just gotta wait for them. I'm still gonna ask for a refund in mid-Jan though. I don't wanna miss out on the refund period just in case it is lost.

Same issue.  Mine has been processing at the same consolidation center since 12/19.

Have you seen any movement yet?

Hmmmmm... At this point, have you considered opening a package research case with USPS?

I've done it a few times where tracking " froze ", and in all cases, the package would miraculously start moving again.

If it doesn't, your local PO will contact you at the very least.

There is no hard and true evidence that shows that my PRC made it start moving but I tend to believe that it does at least put your item in somebody's attention.

A PRC is usually undertaken by your local PO. I don't know the inner workings, but I assume they check to make sure that the package didn't arrive at your local facility without tracking, and they may contact the DC that made the last scan to check for it.

You can find the info to open a PRC in the USPS website by clicking on the header " where's my package?"  in the search tracking section.

At the very least it gives the feeling that something is happening.

Thanks for the advice. My parcel is supposed to be shipped out to the UK and I'm not sure if USPS is involved after delivering the item to eBay's consolidation center for international shipping.

No, they're done with it after delivery to the consolidation center. That's why your shipping label has a domestic address on it instead of a British one, and two tracking barcodes. The big one is for domestic USPS tracking, and the smaller one below it on the eBay label (next to the color eBay logo) is for the international leg.

When I track the item, the service listed is DHL eCommerce Parcel Direct.

They're handling it the rest of the way.

The eBay tracking is pretty good at displaying the tracking results, first from the USPS  tracking number and later the DHL, so that it looks pretty seamless at a glance, but yes, there is often a honking big delay between the time that USPS delivers the package and the time that DHL does something with it. Patience is a virtue. 🙄

I would, but USPS doesn't recognise the tracking number as a valid number. Probably because it's done through eBay Delivery Service. And that's the only tracking number I have.

Dang. It would seem to me that if USPS had custody of the package, the tracking would be recognizable to them, because they'd need to use it, or at least have a record of it.

I know for many int'l packages, I've been able to have USPS trace packages using the origin country's postal tracking number/ UPC.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I suspect quite strongly that that is exactly the case. After all, what are the chances of all these parcels going missing at that particular consolidation center in Glendale, IL. It is more likely that they just have a massive backlog of parcels to get through especially given the time of year. I'm prepared to wait as close to INR deadline as possible because of how long I'd been searching for this particular item.

USPS does not have custody of the package because they are at the DHL consolidation center.

Processing at Consolidation Center - No updates in two weeks.

Update: My package is on the way. Here's the story of how I finally found it.

Still no update on eBay's tracking of my package. The last update is still Dec 5th.

I went to USPS.com again to check their tracking to see if they had the package since they were the last ones to handle it according to my tracking information. Nothing. The tracking number isn't valid.

So, on a whim, I decided to go to other delivery service websites and use my tracking number. I wasn't expecting anything. Invalid here, invalid there, and so on and so on. Then I get to the DHL website. and suddenly there's all this information about my package starting from Dec 5th, which was the last known update on my package from eBay's tracking. Same origin "Glendale Heights" as the last known location from eBay. And the destination address is my place.

So I guess the package was handed over to DHL on Dec 5th, but eBay never updated me with that information. Nor does eBay's tracking update to show DHL's tracking. It just ends with USPS's leg of tracking my package. At the very least the USPS could've said "handed over to a different courier" or something.

So, to all the people with the same problem, go to other delivery services and try using your tracking number with them instead. You might find your package like I did.

I just found my package. I pinned my solution as the "best answer" to this thread.

Basically, I went to other delivery service websites to try my tracking number. I found my package with DHL. My package disappeared on Dec 5th at that consolidation centre in Glendale Heights, and DHL's tracking starts on Dec 5th from Glendale Heights. The destination of the package is listed as my suburb. And the last update on the package is Dec 22nd saying it's arrived in my country and has cleared customs. Obviously, due to Xmas, there had been no updates since then, but it is coming.

I guess eBay and USPS just neglected to tell us that our packages had changed courier services. And eBay's system doesn't keep track of other couriers tracking.

So I suggest going to any delivery service website you can think of and using the tracking number you have to see if it's with a different courier.

Excellent! Hopefully you have it soon. I'm currently dealing with a similar situation where a switch-off between carriers didn't / isn't going smoothly.

Thanks for keeping us updated... You just provided a lot of people with the same issue  a lot of useful information!

I found my package. It was being tracked by a different courier service. eBay's tracking wasn't updated with their tracking. And no one told me my package had switched to a different courier. I pinned my solution as the "best answer" to this thread so you can see how I found my package.

Long story short, check other delivery service websites and try to use your tracking number with them. You may find your package has been with another delivery service this entire time and is on the way to you right now.
