Printer problem and total earnings

Hello all--

Big problem here.  I made a sale this morning and tried to print the eBay shipping label, but my printer wouldn't print it.  I tried everything to get it to work, retrying and retrying.  My printer finally printed the label, but now I'm seeing that each time I tried to print the label, another shipping fee was added (the buyer pays $7.67).  So now my Order Earnings total $1.57....after  the successive shipping label deductions while trying to get my printer to work.  My Order Earnings should be about $10 after the transaction fee.  What in heaven's name should I do about this?  Also, will the buyer pay the extra shipping cost?  What a mess.

Sounds like you purchased a new label every time you tried to print.  You can cancel out the labels that aren't being used and you will be refunded for them.  It takes a while for the refunds to show up as they won't do it until after a certain amount of time to make sure you don't end up using them.  Go here:

https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/my-ebay

You can match up the one that has the same tracking number you are actually using and then cancel out the other one (or more).   One thing I do is instead of trying to print out through your webpage, download the label and then print it through your PDF viewer.  This way you have the label in your computer so you can keep trying with that one until you finally get your printer working correctly.  I've done that for many years now.

Check the tracking# of the label you will plan on using and  then Go to ORDERS, SHIPPING LABELS (cancel labels you didn't use).   USPS takes about 3 weeks before money will be refunded to your account.

No, you pay for the shipping lablels (not the customer).

If you were charged another shipping charge, then you ORDERED another label, you didn't  REPRINT it. Go to your shipping label section and cancel the label that DIDN'T print. You will not receive a refund on it for up to 28 business days.

https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub

(in the future use this section to manage your labels)

In the future, you can take the QR code to the post office and they can print it for you if you have printer issues.

Hi @word68 . Looks like your problem was solved, but I'll add in some info about how to reprint (as opposed to buying a new label) and about what you should expect in terms of refunds for the cancelled labels.

Stressing what someone else said above: make sure you are voiding the correct labels, not the one you ended up using for shipping.

-----------

To reprint a label purchased through eBay (or download a copy of a QR code through the reprint function), go to this page, find the order and select Reprint from the Actions drop-down. The reprint option is available for 7 days.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.
