Hello everyone. I am having a issue with 3 customers not receiving their item in a timely manner. I do next day shipping and upgrade to priority and offer free shipping. I have filed claims to the post office on behalf of these 3 customers and the managers called me back and had a tone like I’m too busy to look for your items. If I have to refund the money how do I stop the customer from receiving the product. Can I call the post office and have them shipped back to me and how do I do that? In my 20 years on eBay I never really had this issue with the post office.

You can ask the PO to intercept the packages. Cost is about $15 each. You can do it through their website.
We tried this once recently. Didn't work so no charge.

Need more details.........
When was the ship date?
What is the tracking showing?
What is the last date the tracking showed actual movement?
While you can recall a shipment via USPS (Package Intercept) it's nor a cheap service, $14.65 per package.

"the managers called me back and had a tone like I’m too busy to look for your items"
Well you're pretty much heckling the local post office to do something they can't feasibly do. If they don't have the package sitting right there, there's nothing to really tell you and they aren't going to go drive around to every facility between them and New Jersey. I'm surprised they bothered to contact you, from what I heard most people are just getting their cases closed almost immediately without any contact being made. With the couple cases I opened in december, USPS didn't bother to touch the cases in any fashion until after the packages were delivered so the cases automatically closed.
"I do next day shipping and upgrade to priority and offer free shipping."
Doesn't mean much, what with the huge delays all over the place.

These types of request need to be closed out by the office getting the request. I believe the requirement is 3 days.
If they do not, they get a reminder to take action.
Agree, there isn't much the destination office can do. If it isn't there, it isn't there. In most instances there is nothing more to be seen by the person answering the request than can be seen by anyone else checking the tracking #.

I don’t know about you but I average 20 a piece to ship and pay thousands to the post office. I understand their backed up but over a month and the pos office raising their rates I would expect to get the service I paid for or is that to much to ask. So what’s your point? Boohoo it happened to me more than you. What are you 10 years old?

What an awful attitude and thing to say to someone who is offering you advice, which you came here to ask for. Shame on you. I understand you are frustrated but please be respectful of others on this board, it's one of the rules....

Let's take it down a notch. The point is that there isn't anything that your local PO can do to track your package above and beyond what you can do. If the package is sitting in a warehouse full of packages, the post office doesn't have time to coordinate a search and rescue mission for your item. They are trying to keep current on what's being shipped now, and digging out from the backlog, as time permits.
How much you spend is not of huge import. Let's pretend that you spend $7000/year with the USPS. That is one ten-millionth of what they take in every year (0.00001%). Given that - depending on how you look at the numbers - the post office gains or loses a very small amount on each package that they ship, dedicating significant time and resources to finding your packages would be a pretty bad move. They are better off losing you as a customer than to upend their operations to make you happy.

i pay thousands upon thousands to usps too every year too but moaning groaning about it aint gonna get you any better service during this covid stuff going on. when the people dealing with the pkgs. are FORCED to quarantine for 14 days if they have been in the same building or in contact with someone working that test positive then whose left to run the show. the pkgs arent gonna move on their on. every seller is going thru this. they didnt just pick you out to give you grief, its happening to everyone. between the election, christmas and the stinking covid. why would anyone be shocked or mad. aint nothing you can do about it, except gripe. just got to man up and deal with it.

Huh? You live on the East Coast and you are going to let some manager in a PO run you over? me thinks they are gunna revoke yer Joisey card! 😁😳😎
Haven't seen anything that prohibits opening a second request or maybe a third. And if enough time has passed the step 3 of the Missing Mail process is available. Try using some of that Joisey charm until the PO figures out it is easier to just go had pick your package and deliver it on a silk pillow than deal with you.
Look at this Announcement from eBay about the delays of shipping and what may still be available to you as a seller. Of course, keeping in tough with your buyers and providing proof of your efforts with the USPS can buy you time and stave off INR claims.
But anecdotally, it is pretty clear that some sorting center in the Philly area is to blame for a large number of delayed cases. Wonder if it is COVID cases or quarantines because of suspected exposure.
But yes, as others have noted, if you have to refund before the items arrive to the buyers, then if it is worth it file a Package Intercept.
Oh and I had a few things get stuck in around Philly or SNJ and filed MM requests. Got replies from the same USPS worker that were terse, unfriendly and epitomized what I envision as "east coast" charm. So perhaps you found the same "help" I did?

Truth be told at this time it is asking too much of the post office. The point is that it's not going well there and we are all suffering the consequences of their actions. Really bad for many. My last stuck package just got delivered after almost 6 weeks. I've been pretty lucky tho. Many sellers here and other businesses got hit really hard in this fiasco.
I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to be on ebay so we are all over 10....
