I just sold a fairly high-dollar item (over $700). The winning bidder paid promptly but is now asking me to ship to a different address. I realize that we're not supposed to do that (I already told them I was only going to ship to the PayPal confirmed address) but now I feel like I'm going to get scammed regardless of where I send it. The buyer has 0 feedback. What is the best route to go (if any) to protect myself here, since I can't just refuse to send the item.

I understand how you feel.
Are you sure it's the actual buyer because the winning bidder has 4 feedback, not 0?
"The buyer has 0 feedback. "

Ok, I'm an idiot. The message was from some rando trying to scam me, not the actual winner. Thank you for pointing this out.

You are not an idiot, just trusting. It's good you came here to ask because it's a known scam for high dollar items, these scammers are predators.
good luck!

New seller with high value items, all you will get is scammers. No legit buyer will bid that much on low feedback unproven sellers. Only ship to where eBay said to.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.
