Package not delivered on time

I'm closing my account and just opened it they've had long enough to deliver my package it was supposed to be the 4th it's the 8th and still no package. I own a business and need my items when I'm told they'll be here. They lie and take your money already knowing they're not going to deliver. I'll be reporting them the better business bureau ASAP. This rediculous!!!!!

Welcome to the covid times and problems with the shippers.

It is what it is...Expect it to get worse.

Unless the seller is personally delivering the items I can't understand how they are to blame for the USPS being in complete disarray from a pandemic. I've bought around 75 items this year and they have all showed up sooner or later. Rarely every on time. Maybe stick with Amazon since they literally have their own drivers now.

Open an Item Not Received claim since if the package's Estimated Delivery Date way yesterday or before that.

It's all the carrier companies, and it doesn't matter where you buy from. It could be from ebay, amazon, staples, or office depot it just doesn't matter. Even my shipments for inventory are messed up, I just got the rest of my Halloween inventory in the beginning of December. The only thing is to be patient.

It is amazing to me the rationalization about shipping. Buyers have expectation. If, in the seller's professional opinion, shipping is slow with carriers then the listing should state that as well as eBay itself clearly state that within the listing.

Some sellers will say, well if I am forthcoming and state shipping has be delayed may take x amount longer than usual, no one would bid. Well, who doing the hustle now.

If a buyer that does not pay in the appropriate time can be dinged with non payer strike.

It's like sellers, which I am one, live in a vacuum, that a buyer will have some kind of patience when not informed BEFORE THEIR BID OR use BUY IT NOW PURCHASE.

In my case, I live in Texas and travel to Illinois and Wisconsin to help with elderly family and other issues. That's none of the sellers business, its their business to do what they promise.

I'm not going to have neighbors, friends etc. tend to my mail. It's nobodies business when I may or not be at home for obvious reasons.

I buy knowing that the sellers terms are satisfactory with my travel plans.

For sure, it is USPS, UPS, & Fed Ex, all of them. Our outbound stuff was moving well until the last 7-10 days, then everything slowed down. Blame it on the season, but it does seem to be worse this year.

You shouldn’t be buying anything online.

Strange response.  Why should the OP not be buying anything on line?

Who is 'they' and which account are you closing? Who is lying? USPS and other providers give estimated delivery dates. If you read their terms you will find out that their delivery dates estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates (until of course you purchase some of their expensive 'guaranteed delivery' services.)

Even the "Guaranteed" delivery services aren't guaranteed in this extraordinary season.  Here's an announcement from FedEx:

  • The COVID-19 outbreak has disrupted supply chains around the world. We're continuing to operate in impacted areas as local conditions and restrictions allow.
  • We have suspended our money-back guarantee for all FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight and FedEx Office services effective immediately until further notice.
  • We’ve suspended Signature Required for most shipments

Because the OP's expectations may be too high.

Expecting everything  "0n or before" at this point in time is unrealistic. If someone expects that then it is correct that possibly they should not buy "online".

An "instate" Priority to me was just late. Sat at the nearby regional facility for 3 days.

Last week a FedEx delivery was a day late.  To add insult to injury on that one, the driver stopped by the road. Opened the back of the truck, and put the new engine  for my snow blower in my covered box above the mailbox.

It ended up in the garage as I was standing in my doorway looking at him after put t in there. When he saw me, he proceeded to bring it where it should have been to start.

Now if the OP's item had no tracking so that the delay could be followed, that is different.  OP did not elaborate on the "not here yet".

Why? There job is to pay. The listing/seller states the terms. eBay facilitates the rules. The buyer is not the problem, they paid. Patience is not an eBay policy. Buyers always right and if there not we can block them. That's the only tool we have as sellers.

Yes, I agree USPS is an estimate, sorta.

On eBay its not and estimate in my humble opinion. They give a range, if exceeded I can file INR no matter how unreasonable the seller thinks I am being.

If it is JUST an estimate, how can a buyer submit a Item Not Received request at the dates eBay states?

That's not an estimate to me, that's a policy. USPS opinion has no bearing on my transaction facilitated by the rules, good or bad, that eBay itself states.
