I've only verified 2 items so far: I was overcharged for 2 items. For one item, the eBay "Ship Your Order" page said it would cost $108.24, and I was charged $121.13. For the 2nd item, the "Ship Your Order" page said I would be charged $110.11 and I was just charged $178.16.
I've read some posts saying that UPS and FedEx charge more for oversized packages. However there is no excuse for this. eBay can easily add these charges to the "Ship Your Order" page. They deceptively leave them off to make it look like they are saving you money.
I went to UPS.com and generated a label for the 2nd item. It came up very close to the amount I was charged ($172). The "Ship Your Order" page says I'm getting a 48% discount for shipping with eBay. From what I see, I was overcharged 62%.

Ebay charges you the EXACT price of the shipping label. No more. No less.
What's your question?

Hi, when I have big packages like that, I take them to the postoffice. Most the time it comes out cheaper. Sometimes it does not.

@diamondsprings
Are you using "calculated" shipping, i.e. entering the size and weight of the package?
If you are, the original price displayed is shown to YOUR OWN Zip Code. Depending on where the buyer is located it, it is likely more. You buyer should be charged the correct amount to their location which will be given to you.
Even so, both FedEx and UPS are susceptible to additional "upcharges" at a later time if your weight/measurements are deemed incorrect.

Did you use proper measurements, weight, etc.? Typically additional charges come into play when its not exactly as described to the carrier by the shipper. I ship as calculated price to buyer destination & round up in my listings for dimensional size & weight to ensure it never is flagged.

The question is why we're getting charged more after the delivery is the question... You don't ship big stuff, sorry stuffed animals don't count, and am not sure why you even replied, I guess to feel special?

I wasn't replying to you.
I was relying to @diamondsprings
I'm not sure why you replied to me.

I see now that UPS (purposely or not) added inches to my package in order to severely increase the cost. By adding 3 inches to the dimensions, the cost went up over $70. The weight I used was 59 lbs. and dimensions were 47x28x12. Even if UPS added 2 inches (49x28x12) the cost increases less than $3.00. However by adding that 1 more inch (49x29x12) the cost goes up over $70. Variations with weight by a few pounds don't make any difference with the price. I’ll be filing a BBB report against UPS for this issue.
eBay did credit me for the difference. Nice of them since it wasn't their fault.
One other thing I've asked eBay to help with: I am unable to find anywhere on eBay (or UPS.com) that shows the weight and dimensions for shipped UPS packages. This information is available for FedEx shipments on eBay, but not for UPS shipments.

Anyone here is allowed to reply to any message they choose.
They don't do it to "feel special". They do it to be helpful.

This is likely due to Dimensional Weight.

Why doesn't eBay include dimensional weight when I print a label?

Unless you work for eBay and audit every shipping label, you cannot possibly know this. I've explained the issue further and eBay is not at fault. eBay doesn't charge for labels, UPS and FedEx do, and not until well after the items have been shipped.

eBay used to provide visibility to UPS charges when they are finalized (after the item ships) so you could see an exact breakdown of why you were charged those rates. eBay took away that breakdown so sellers can no longer verify if the charges were accurate or not.
The eBay calculator does factor in dimensional weight for UPS assuming you entered accurate dimensions and weight when you purchased your label.
Since you don't have visibility to the cost breakdown we can make 2 reasonable guesses as to why you were charged more:
1. Surcharges. These can be for anything from residential delivery to fuel to extended are deliver to nonstandard packaging to adjusted dimensions to peak season and more.
2. UPS error. If it's UPS error it is near impossible to fight since you can't see the reason for the surcharge and also because you bought the label on eBay's UPS account so you're not the account owner.
The best advice I can give in this situation is to buy future labels somewhere other than eBay. I use pirateship.com for UPS labels.

Unless you absolutely have to use UPS or FEDEX good luck, RARELY do I use them, while there are issues with USPS....nowhere near the ones with ebay ,fedex or ups...
