On a rectangular box which side is narrow? I made a bet because I labeled the longer side

I needed to label a long rectangular box with info on the box.  I wrote on the long side of the rectangular box.  But my manager said “narrow” side of the box which he explained was the side of the box if it’s facing you with length wise... I argued with him about it.  Am I wrong?

Well you would need to clarify "narrow" with him. I thought in saying it he means short side. As opposed to the wide or long side. So the way I thought about it you are incorrect. That's me. Another might see it a different way.
