Hey community,
A customer just file for a return he has 7 days to return the item to me.So if he does not return the item by 7 days the case is closed by ebay.
My question do I still have to give a refund if I received the item 9 days later?

Yes you have to refund if you receive the item 9 days later. The buyer has to ship the item back by the date eBay gave you. It doesn’t have to be delivered to you by that date, it just has to be shipped by that date.

eBay gives buyer 5 business days to ship the item and submit tracking number. If you see that 5 days already over and the buyer didn't supply tracking number you need to call eBay customer service and close this return as eBay wouldn't do it without your call.

Not exactly. Once a Return Request is opened, you accept it and provide the buyer with a return label. The buyer now has FIVE business days [not calendar days] to ship the item back. That does NOT mean it has to be returned to you within 5 days, it means the buyer has to SHIP it within 5 business days. It may take several days longer to get back to you.
So if he does not return the item by 7 days the case is closed by ebay.
Sometimes, but most of the time, the seller needs to call Ebay and have them close the case after 5 FULL business days have passed and the buyer hasn't shipped the item back.

Well as far as Ebay is concerned and if you got the case closed in your favor, Ebay won't do anything to you or force you to return the money. But on a moral level, I would say absolutely you should. Why should you be able to have the product to resell and the buyer's money too. Keeping the money would be very bad Karma!!!
