Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how to list an item without specifying the carrier? I’ve seen some listings where it’s just listed with “Economy Shipping”, “Standard Shipping”, or “Expedited Shipping”. Yes most listings if you click on the details it says what carrier/service will be used, but some don’t specify the carrier/service being used. I have a heavier item and I’d like to offer free shipping, but I don’t want to specify the carrier. I want to be able to use which ever carrier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS) is cheapest after a buyer purchases the item. Any idea how to list an item without specifying the carrier? Thanks!!

Economy or Expedited usually comes from USPS shipments. Best to just research those 3, Fedex, UPS and USPS- you know the size and weight, use the farthest US zip code (10001 NY, 90001 Cali) and you can know the price ahead of time. Large items do best if they show the shipping cost, as an item that sells for $150 shipped, could be $80 with $70 shipping and most will understand. You can also do 'calculated' shipping, put in the weight/size and carrier and it will calculate for the buyer. Buyers that live closer will have lower shipping shown to them than buyers that are farther. For a $10 shipped item, doesn't really matter, but a large item could be $60 to $250 for shipping- depending on size/wt.

The method is for domestic to go to Flat same cost to all buyers.
Now that said a large item can very in cost rapidly with different zones.
Small items flat cost works. Big items are very trick and can due to cost to a distant zone can make flat cost lose sales.

Don't think you can unless you offer free shipping.
If you use calculated shipping, it has to know which carrier so it can calculate the shipping.

Check off Flat rate for shipping rather than calculated, so the drop-down menu for available services includes those generic categories.

Click on flat rate shipping and when you look at the shipping methods you will see the generic
'economy shipping' under the heading Economy services; 'standard shipping' under Standard services and so on. If you don't see them you might have to click to expand the list
