Not being paid for shipping

Hi All,

Is anyone else having this issue. I completely understand how shipping works with ebay. The buyer pays the shipping, I buy the label and then I'm supposed to receive all the money they paid to include the shipping. I had to bring it to ebays attention that I've never received the money for any of my shipping. For example, and item that is $13 sells, they pay the $5.50 shipping, then I paid $4.50 for a label. Ebay should take their fee which is $1.98, then pay me for the net $11.02 and the shipping he paid $5.50, total $16.52. I've only received the $11.02, ebay has not sent the fees buyers have paid for the shipping to me at any time. I think this has happened to others, check you account. They buyer is paying, then I'm paying, and ebay is keeping all that money. I brought it up and they put in a ticket on it but I'd check your sells.

If this is happening to a lot of people, and they are double-dipping in shipping that moves into class action land.

If you go to your sellers hub you will find a breakdown of the fees. Did you take into consideration that the fees include sales tax and "all" the shipping they paid plus the .30 transaction fee?

If the item sold for $13 and you charged them $5.50 shipping, that would be $18.50, then add any sales tax paid by the buyer to that. That would be what the fees were based on, not $16.52. What you actually paid for the shipping does not matter, the fee is based on the full amount of shipping they paid, not what it cost you.

When you buy shipping on eBay, that money is subtracted from your payout, so you will not see it.

You are incorrect in how fees work. Your fees are based on the total for the entire transaction, including shipping and taxes. Go to your orders page and click on the order total for your item. That will show you a complete breakdown of every fee for that particular transaction. In your scenario of a $13 transaction, your total net would not be $11.02 at all. Best of luck to you....

You are NOT doing the math correctly. There's NO double dipping and it appears you really DON'T know how shipping works.

Item sells for $13

Plus Shipping $5.50

Plus Sales Tax (for 45 states)- Call it a buck ($1)

Ebay fee (on the $19.50) is $2.84 (12.9% plus .30c) so already I don't know where you got $1.98 from.

So, you get $13 plus $5.50 Plus $1 Minus $1 (tax is removed) minus $2.84 would give you $15.66

Out of that $15.66 you pay for the shipping label (whatever that may be)- let's say $4 and you took that money out of 'Pending Funds' (From the customer) vs. using Paypal- your only 2 choices..so, sounds like you used Pending Payments

$15.66 minus $4.50 would give you $11.16 or so (depending on state sales tax rate, category you were selling in for Final Value Fees).

So, if you got $11 something- you got EXACTLY what you should've got.

Are you buying your shipping labels through Ebay?

If so, they take the funds the buyer paid, to pay for the labels.

Have a great day.

even though your calculations are done incorrectly (FVF is all items total X .129), lets assume for a minute that your scenario and timeline are the way that your payout is calculated.......

from where did USPS get paid the $4.50?

why would they 'put in a ticket?"
