Non-determinite shipping

Can someone explain to me how/why ebay has eliminated a seller determining their own shipping amounts?

They didn't, haven't and never will.

Use FLAT RATE instead of CALCULATED.

Using Flat Rate allows YOU to determine how much a person is charged for shipping.

Calculated allows ebay's system to determine the shipping cost, and it will ONLY be accurate if you input the correct 'type' of shipping (usps, ups, fedex??) and the correct WEIGHT AND SIZE.

Thanks for the reply.  Where do I find the choice to make it flat rate?  You can tell I'm not a new user, but ebay's past few years changes have me dizzy they have made things so complicated.

edit the listing; there is a place when you get down to the 'shipping' portion that will have you choose (Flat Rate or Calculated) and if FR is used, then YOU input what type (from 100's shown- typically usps 1st Class or usps Priority (if over 16oz) and then, again, you input the Cost you want to charge a customer).
