No Help in sight and the days go by.

I had a lady buy an item and then ask to combine shipping so she could buy more items.  I  told her I certainly would combine but not to pay me until getting my invoice, but she paid for some items and not for others as she went on buying.  When she finished buying I boxed her purchases, invoiced her for the balance due, was paid immediately, and I bought the eBay shipping label and shipped with a validation receipt from my local P.O. within 24 hours only to find I was dinged for being late on tracking upload and validation.  The lady left me great feedback and was happy with the speed of delivery....yet still I'm dinged?

So assisting my customer at her request and communicating back and forth with her on the ebay email system not to pay until invoiced did nothing.  I called eBay and was told I did everything right, and the mark would be removed but it hasn't been.  I called back and was told it could take more than a month for the "committee" to make a ruling.  Say what?  I was already told I did everything right and now I have to wait a month or more to have the ding removed?   Why am I still trying to sell here?

I don't want to list any more items to sell until the ding is removed because eBay asks questions when I call that I'm having to look up the answers for and if I close out the month I'll loose easy access to the information.  I use a selling software that keeps all my books for me so not closing out the month essentially means I need to stop selling until I can close it out.  I'm old so I try to use my selling system to it's full advantage and if I try to force things I get in a huge mess but it's getting old waiting to sell with no communication at all from eBay.

Why does it take a month to get this fixed?   If I screw up they want me to act yesterday.

Hi @tdebuys, I apologize if there was a miscommunication but I can confirm this was submitted successfully. You may not see any changes on your end until your monthly seller performance review has passed, but I can confirm that on our end this has been resolved as you discussed on your phone call with Customer Service. All you need for proof is a copy of the message the buyer sent you.  That should be inyour messages folder.  Write down any other information that the reps are asking for.  Go ahead and close out your books.  And look into getting a better system, the one you have is hurting you, not helping.

Also, one late shipping ding is not a big deal.  Of course you should continue to try to get it removed, but it is not worth stopping your selling over.

I am not about to learn a new system at my age.  Whats hurting me is eBay not fixing the problem for me and it is a big deal to me because I try to be a "top rated" seller.  This time I did everything right and got a dig, but I might make a real error and deserve the ding and then I'd have two... so it has to come off and I can't sell until it does.

Thanks,  Tde

Hopefully you got them to read the actual messages pertaining to this.  It has been said that they will remove the ding if you have buyer messages asking you to wait.

Hi, Trinton, Tyler, and Brian:

I know it has been said that a seller is covered if they have messages from the buyer asking them to wait until they are finished buying, but that is not this seller's experience.  He called an pointed that out but the ding is still there and now they have said it will take a month for a committee ruling.  Could you help with this?  He is a TRS who is thinking of quitting selling due to concern over this ding.  Thank you all so much!

There are two shipping metrics...

On-Time Shipping/Delivery

Tracking Upload & Validation

When a customer requests a delay in shipping through messages, you can get the On-Time  Shipping/Delivery ding removed.

The Tracking Upload one will not be removed.  However, it is only a 3 month look back.

The Tracking Upload metric is necessary for TRS.   It won't hurt your status on a non-TRS account.   Think of all the Plain White Envelope sellers.  They exist.

If the number annoys you, the way to make the % go lower is to keep selling.  It will fall off in 3 months too.

Perhaps for ebay, due to the complexity of the issue, a committee composed of highly respected & trusted members, are seen to be necessary to rule on this particular matter.

Always best that ebay overthink rather than underthink when confronted by matters of great difficulty and importance such as this OP 's request.

From the OP: " I called back and was told it could take more than a month for the "committee" to make a ruling. "

In reply to what I'm reading it sounds as if I'm a fool that has been duped by eBay respondents that evidently want to tell me what I want to hear.  I guess I'm too old to want to believe they'd lie to  me about this, but sounds like that may be the case.  I appreciate those of you that understand this was a serious issue with me.  In all my glorious stupidity I worked very hard to get and maintain my TRS which isn't always easy to do dealing with collectors that can sometimes be a bit finicky in holding you to every word in your description of an item you're selling.

Anyhow I appreciate those of you who took me serious.  I have no reason to misrepresent the facts here and they are all backed up by mulitiple efforts on my part to communicate withe the buyer.  The buyer was wonderful...paid promptly and gave me a great feedback...Which makes the problem with eBay even more disturbing to me.  Nuff said...thanks to those that believed me and were concerned enought to note here.  To everyone else I apologize for being old and stupid.  Godspeed.
