I think it's interesting how today I was notified by eBay of each individual shipping carriers rates for 2022. USPS caught my eye because it said a 3-8% increase meanwhile my husband works for USPS and showed me the rate schedule for 2022 and it ACTUALLY WENT DOWN. SEEMS EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS TO ME!!!!!

I don't know what he showed you, but most USPS services will increase on January 9 when compared to the rates that went into effect in January 2021. IIRC there will be some decreases in Parcel Select Ground and/or Retail Ground.
USPS had a temporary "holiday surcharge" that was in effect from October 3 until December 26. So today's rates are lower than last week's. But most of them go up again on January 9.

Thanks for posting the link. Basically, Starting January 9 (2 weeks sooner than last year), the rates will be reverted back to the previous Christmas Surcharge (which started about 6 weeks sooner than last year) and made permanent. All of this is "adjusted in accordance with inflation". Let's Go Brandon!
For FedEx vs. UPS, everyone at FedEx can figure out why I've been going to UPS 90% of the time, vs. 10% for FedEx. 2 years ago, I was FedEx 95%, UPS 5%.
I guess out of all of this, the only good I see are the new automated kiosks at USPS locations.....that way I can avoid the lines where people complain about the retail prices to front-line workers when all I need are acceptance scans.

I read that USPS First Class Mail wasn't supposed to go up until July of 2022, but I am sseing the increase already. Pretty soon, I am going to either have to raise my prices (which will take longer for my things to sell) or quit selling them at all. They are about to put some of us sellers out of business with the shipping rates

I plan on selling again on eBay & was looking for the 2022 rate increases online. The one you provided was spot on, exactly what I was looking for, & ended my headache! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

In the post above, I provided two links because the thread was about changes that hadn't gone into effect yet. The first of the two links is the main USPS rates document, so that's what you should use to always see the current rates. The second link, which specifically shows the January rates table, will be obsolete in July when the rates change again. Here's the one you want:
