Need to return- defective or not as described?

I purchased a $32 eye cream.  I have been buying  this product for years.  The one I just received did not have the cellophane seal or the sticker on the bottom or the numbers under the sticker.  

I need to return - does it make a difference to say” not as described” (new, authentic) or to say “ defective”?  I expect the seller to pay the return shipping.

Thank you.  I should have also asked - does it make a difference what reason is given?

It sounds like counterfeit, not authentic.

No, just be honest and say that the item is not new and the seal is broken.

Thank you all - took your advice and requested the return - chose item not authentic.

i really don’t understand,  as the seller has lots of sales and good feedback.

the price was the lowest , but not crazy low.
