I recently sent out two separate LEGO packages. One of the bags for one of the deliveries was mistakenly placed in the wrong shipping box before being sent out. When the buyer received his delivery, this bag was missing from his shipment as it was in the box being sent to the other customer. The buyer with the missing pieces hasn't requested a refund or opened a return item case, but would like his missing pieces to be sent to him eventually. What would be the best course of action to fix this?
1. Have the buyer who received the extra bag send the bag to the other buyer after I provide them with a paid shipping label
2. Have the buyer who received the extra bag send just the extra bag back to me after providing them with my paid return shipping label so that I can then send it on to the appropriate buyer.
I'm curious if it's possible to provide a buyer who receives an extra item with a return shipping label without them having to open up a return case and eBay automatically refunding them.
Thanks for the help.

Yikes. If it wasn't a big giant order I honestly would just refund both of them and call it a day. However if it was a very expensive items and your buyers are truthful, you could go with that course of action but it's not something I would recommend. You could end up losing big time in the end either way. Plus all that cost of extra shipping. I had this happened a long time ago when I purchase something somebody sent me a bong in the mail lol. Thankfully I was honest and I forwarded it to the appropriate purchaser and the person did refund me my money. I did eventually get the item he meant to send me, and he even threw in a little gift. Unfortunately not every transactions going to go that nicely. It all depends on who you're working with

Thanks for the response. Both buyers appear to be very accommodating and have high ebay ratings as well. What was the process like for you as far as forwarding the item on to the other person goes? Did the seller give you the address and reimburse you through Paypal or what?

The process is you make it up as you go along. If you think the buyer will do it, I would let the buyer know you will refund $xx AFTER the other buyer acknowledges getting the item.
