Are you missing your delivery?
You make a purchase on eBay. You check the shipping and Yes, the seller has provided a tracking number and a projected date of delivery.
The delivery date comes and goes - you check on eBay and follow the tracking. It says "Delivered". Humm, I didn't get it. So I contact the seller. The seller says they have a record to say that it was shipped and delivered. You ask for a copy. You then contact the shipper who comfirms the delivery. You ask when and how can they prove it was delivered?
The shipper says I'll contact the driver and get back to you. 3-5 days later, the shipper calls and says "The driver said they dropped it at the gate." I explain the house is .3 of a mile from the gate on the road. Why didn't they deliver at the house? Shipper says, "not our problem".
Contact eBay - they say "Not our problem"
This scenario has happened to us 3 times during the holidays - Pay and no Product.
Amazon here I come! They always back their products and in case of a loss, they cover the consumer and don't leave them hanging.
What about you?

Here's the problem - if a shipper says it's shipped, then ebay accepts that as the rule.
We both know you can create a label - and it reports on ebay that it was shipped. However, if the seller never delivers to the P.O. or shipper - it still says it's shipped.
Guess I will have to put a video on the gate - that way if they say it's delivered, the video will either confirm or deny the actual delivery.
The tracking info should be on those messages you get from Ebay when the seller prints a label. Why don't you check the tracking? You can tell if the package is on the move.
Your problem is only with the shipper. Ebay and your seller have nothing to do with it.

Amazon will tell you the same thing.
It's not the sellers responsibility to make sure you have a safe package drop. It's not eBays responsibility to make sure you have a safe place for packages.
It's not the carriers job to make sure you have a safe place for packages.
It's YOUR responsibility to have a secure location for package drop off.
You can buy or build a package drop box to place at your gate.

You can even find a bunch of them listed here on eBay "package drop box".

Just curious - was the gate locked? Is there a dog in the yard?

Or they can do their job and deliver to the house.
Why should I encourage their laziness and the expense of building a drop box?
Makes no sense to me!

We live on 40 acres. House is .3 of a mile from the entry gate. The gate is unlocked. Dogs are in fenced area around the home. There are 2 dry locations at the house to drop the packages without dogs.

Ever had to deal with a union? Maybe the work rules say that if the package weighs over some number of pounds and the house is set back more than some specific distance then, to keep their tightly controlled schedule, they are not required to walk that distance. Yes, I know sounds really odd.
But if you have ever had to deal with union worker rules you wouldn’t be surprised.
For example, I was working out on a construction job as a carpenter. There was a piece of plywood I needed but there was a metal beam on top of it. I was not allowed to move the beam (I was a carpenter, not a metal worker). I had to stand there and wit while they called the union hall and had them send out a metal worker to move the beam (at a guaranteed 1/2 days pay). I couldn’t help but notice that he put it down on top of another pile of wood thereby guaranteeing that he would be called again tomorrow for another 1/2 days pay for 5 minutes worth of work.
Union rules.

.3 miles is 5 football fields. Quite a hike.

Georgia is a non-union State - that's not the problem!

Ha..ha.. they don't have to walk.
From the road to the house is .3 mile. At the house, there is a roundabout driveway. They can drive right up to one of the decks, take 5 steps, drop the package in the dry and drive right out.

If the lazy drivers would just come to the house to deliver - there wouldn't be a problem.
USPS always delivers a package to the house - we have never lost one.
Amazon uses the USPS - We have never missed their shipments.
Amazon also uses FedEx and UPS.
Has it ever occurred to you to leave a note on you gate asking them to come to the house?
I leave a note on my front gate asking them to drop the package over my rear gate regularly

I've done better than that. About a year ago I had a problem and set up accounts with both UPS and Fed Ex. In the comments section, I noted - DELIVER only at House - DO NOT LEAVE at Gate.
When this occurred, I asked the supervisors to look up my accounts - they said, Yes, I see it noted on your accounts, however, the Drivers don't always look at the customer information.

I will be glad to put one up - What's your credit card number to pay for it?
