Minor problem with shipping emails.

I keep getting emails informing me that an item I ordered 2 months ago (and already received) has been shipped. I checked my credit card statement, and I was only charged once for the item. But constantly getting these emails makes me a little nervous.
I sent an email to the seller, and got no response. Beyond that, I'm not sure who I should try to contact about this problem.

Re: Minor problem with shipping emails.

It may be that the original seller is using eBay, and your transaction in particular, to buy postage and send items to other people in order to get eBay's discounts.

If you go in and select a label in you Shipping Labels, it gives you the option of printing another label. It also allows you to change the buyers address.

Had this happen to me a while ago, seller printing 5 additional labels from my transaction, shipped something to 5 different addresses in 5 different states, and I got five emails just like you.

Just someone trying to save a few bucks and not realizing that you are being informed every time.

Re: Minor problem with shipping emails.

Who is sending the emails?  where are they coming from?  eBay? the seller? 3rd party?

I can SPECULATE as to what is going on...

  • glitch in eBay system
  • seller's account got hacked
  • 3rd party scam going on
  • delays in cyber email, finally delivered.

As long as you were charged once, are happy with the item and don't mind a minor irritation, then there is nothing to do, no need to fix anything.

Re: Minor problem with shipping emails.

Sorry for the delay in reply. For some reason I'm not getting notifications for EBay forum responses (go figure).

The emails are coming from E-Bay. I live in Hawaii, so if there were any shipping discounts to be had, I'd imagine my location would garner the best results.

Checking further, it looks like the various packages are being shipped all over. Different tracking numbers and addresses.
Lynn, MA on Feb 6th
Galveston, TX on Feb 8th
Young Harris, GA on Feb 26th
and the most recent one, which is "out for delivery" to Newburgh, NY.

I'm a little miffed that the seller didn't respond with some sort of information, but I suppose there is potential for them to get in trouble (if they are scamming the shipping discount system), so it is best for them not to say anything.
I already had a slight issue with the product anyway, but my location (Hawaii) makes dealing with returns all that much more problematic. I honestly feel that most E-Bay sellers know and take advantage of this when dealing with people in Hawaii. Or at least the ones that would also scam the shipping system to steal a few dollars.

Based upon your experience, I hope this 5th one is the last.
