For the past few weeks I've noticed that ebay isn't giving me the option to use media mail for the sports magazines I sell. It used to, but doesn't now. I've checked my listings and have marked media mail as my preferred mailing option and the buyer even chooses it, but I can't use it because it won't give me that option when I'm processing my mailing labels. Is anyone else having this problem? Am I missing something?
Appreciate any help ... it's a bit of a pain sometimes when our P. O. is backed up with customers, which is
most of the time.

If your magizines, no matter how old, have advertising in them, you can NOT ship them via Media Mail.

Magazines don't qualify for media mail because they contain ads.
To buy Media Mail on Ebay, the item has to be listed in a category that qualifies for Media Mail.

Since media mail does not apply to the vast majority of magazines it is best to mail individual issues via large envelope first class unless the issue has enough value to justify a first class package with tracking.

The yearbooks are also periodicals and don't qualify for Media Mail.

This has happened to me several times. I keep money in my Paypal account just for this reason. Just copy the address and print the shipping label through Paypal. They do not charge for the service and you have a tracking number to add to the listing... THEN Just tag the item as shipped, and post the tracking number from the Paypal label. Done. Hope this works for you as it does for me.

Hey, dixiesfreeauctions -- why are you encouraging a seller to break the law?!?
USPS rules clearly state that magazines do NOT qualify for Media rates -- they contain advertising!
Doesn't matter how OLD the ads are, or how OLD the magazines may be -- they can NOT be shipped out at USPS Media rate!
This is another reason why USPS keeps raising the rates on other mail services -- because there are still too many used magazine sellers who are cheating on postage.
Please stop!
