Media Mail for Photographic Slides

I'm interested in selling my collection of photographic travel slides.

The regular USPS shipping is quite high depending on the weight of the box.

However, I see other sellers using Media Mail for their shipping of photo slides.

According the USPS, slides are not included as acceptable material for media mail.

Does anyone know how they are getting around this shipping method?

Thank you.

There's no legit workaround; they are just not getting caught.

This is a good link to the USPS site and what you can ship media mail. It is something that is abused, and if the post office suspects it is being misused, they have the authority to open your package. So, I wouldn’t do it. Also if the recipient gets the package, it could come postage due based on the way it should be shipped.

We don't know if they're getting around it. Their buyers may be paying extra postage on their end. The PO is allowed to inspect and charge for Priority Mail if they're caught. A buyer can always snitch on the seller, too.  They should if the seller is abusing Media Mail.
