I shipped a textbook on May 4th via media mail. This was a more expensive book at $50.00. The buyer filed a claim yesterday that she never received it. I checked the tracking number and there has been NO information provided by USPS, it only shows that I created the label. I called the 800 number and the estimated wait time to talk to someone is two hours, I called the local office and no one even answers. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions on this? I have to respond by Friday June 1st. I am just sick about this. I have never had this happen before! Thanks!

Respond to the case with the tracking information. Have you tracked it yourself at usps.com? (I see you say there is "no information"; do you mean it doesn't even show as scanned?)
I'd also put a Missing Mail ticket in with USPS.
Really, that is all you can do at the moment. It's entirely possible the book will then show up.

Unfortunately if there is no acceptance scan, all you can do is upload tracking and babysit it for the next 3 days. If it shows movement through the postal system between now and friday, CALL ebay and ask them to place the case on hold to allow more time for delivery. If there is no movement by friday afternoon, you'll have to refund the buyer before she asks ebay to step in.

No, it has never even been scanned by the post office. After doing some research on this, I am reading that some media mail takes up to one month to arrive, and it also may not ever ben scanned until it is actually delivered at the address. This is so frustrating and it is safe to say, I will never ship via media mail again. Thanks for your help. I will definitely fill out a ticket.

Tracking info has been uploaded this whole time, as I purchase labels through ebay and ship from home. Looks like I am going to be taking a loss on this one 😞
Thanks!

I have never had any problems with media mail and every time it only less that 10 days to be delivered. But I did have a first class package going to Florida that didn't update for 6 days and the second I refunded buyer, the tracking was updated and package was delivered the next day. If only I waited one more day.

This is why you insist on getting an origin scan.
