Good Day!
I want to order some items from a single seller on eBay with tracking number. I contacted the seller about it and he responded that a tracking number would cost me additional fee.
I'm ok with paying it and the seller asked me to create an "Unpaid Order" so that they can add the fee to the order and I could pay it all on eBay.
Problem is that I could not find a way to make such Unpaid Order.
I'm using PayPal to pay.
What is an Unpaid Order that the seller refers to and how can I create one?
Could you help me on this?
I have seen unpaid items only on auctions, but this is not the case I don't have auction items won in the order.
Thanks,
Anton.

Well if you mean the button in screen 1, than that is what I did and errored.
In screen 2 is the screen this button takes me to and it is written that this is about combined shipping. What seems accurate since when I have only FREE shipping items in my card this option is disabled with a note that says -> You can't request a total because the seller has already offered free shipping for these items. (screen 3).

Ok that is the right button and you can’t request an invoice because the seller offers free shipping. The system doesn’t allow for discounts in this situation and it doesn’t take into account that the buyer may be asking for a shipping upgrade & that the seller needs to add a shipping cost and send a new invoice. So that is why you can’t request an invoice.

Exactly! And actually I was mistaken, the OP can’t request an invoice because the items have free shipping. Which a problem that they acknowledge but they won’t fit, they don’t see it as a problem. If the seller has a sale running then an invoice can’t be requested either, because eBay doesn’t allow further discounts SMDH.

Ok, you see the problem of going down the ebay cart 'rabbit holes'.
Work around the non-logical.
Contact seller by any means, via the 'Orders list' at bottom of your Summary' page perhaps.
Just request they cancel current invoice and then issue a new invoice with the additional tracking charge fee [I reckon of little merit due to the China component.... and turns out my postal service -Australia Post - has a far superior tracking / notification system than provided by USA services].
As other member says, I've never actually had a China shipment go missing.
Long shipping delays - sometimes very fast delivery ... yeah.
Items marked 'shipped' within an hour [not credible]... yeah.
Tracking info very sketchy... yeah.
But none go missing.
I suppose you could always add another item and from that request invoice cancel to include new item with tracking [if you select shipping method that has this dubious merit tracking for the new item added].
Maybe... maybe this will have all items consolidated [combined into 1 postal article - combined shippped] , thus tracked by virtue of that new item.
What I've found is that you need to 'work around' the limitations and illogical stuff ebay has 'improved' over the years. Changes haven't always been for the better thats for sure.
Good luck!
