Long term store pause

I picked up an awesome seasonal job this summer, and will be living in the mountains until mid October in a different state. I need to shut down or pause my store for almost 6 months. I dont want to lose my rating, have to relist everything when i return, or pay subscription fee while not actively using ebay. Does anyone have a good suggestion?

You can do 'time away' for UP to 30 days, then you will have to go 'live' for a day, then back on 'time away' another 30 days; although not allowed, bump all prices up by $1000 to stop anyone from buying for that 1 day (bulk edit) as well as be sure to click 'do not allow sales'.

I suppose that taking your items with you to sell (and changing your Shipping Addresses) is not an option?

Its not. I sell mostly bullion, a small truck, and pulling a trailer. No room and would be overweight.

You can use (1) Time Away, which has to be renewed every 30 days, or (2) the "Out of stock" option, in which you'd change the "Quantity available" to zero so that the listing isn't shown to potential buyers, then correct the quantity when you return.  Of course this requires a lot of careful note-taking if you have listings with multiple quantities.  IIRC there's a time limit on the OOS option after which eBay will end a listing, but even after that it's available to relist for 90 days. (The OOS tool is aimed at multi-item listings, but can be used when you want to pause a single-item listing by changing the quantity to zero.)

If your Store subscription is month-to-month, just cancel it.  The cancellation will take effect on the first day of the next calendar month.   With only 143 listings, you don't need a store because a seller with no store gets 250 free insertions per month.  OTOH if your Store subscription is annual, you'll have to do some fancy math to see whether the "early termination fee" will cost you more or less than paying to carry those unused months.  The early termination fee is based on the store level (Starter, Basic, etc.) and the number of months remaining in your annual commitment. With a 6-month absence, I'm pretty sure you're better off canceling the subscription. You can see a chart in the Store TOS:

Have a great summer!
