Local sales handling time

How does handling time work for local sales?  Some items I want to sell locally only, but need time to prep them when they sell.  Handling time appears to be removed as an option when I select local sale.

The items need to be ready before you list them.

The buyer expects to get the item in the same condition as it was listed.

Local sales handling time

Handling time is supposed to be the amount of time it takes between the sale and dropping off at shipping.  There is no "handling" for a local pick-up ... I guess you want to have a "production" time, huh?

Local sales handling time

Yes, that's essentially it. I need to be able to take local orders and then allow time for production if necessary. It would make sense to the local purchaser as to why the production time is necessary, and would be disclosed at the time of purchase.

If you're only going to offer local pick up, just mention in the description how long it will take to prepare the order and you'll contact them when it's ready to pick up.

Is there a time penalty of any kind with Local Pickup? If I end up taking two weeks, will a comment in the description be enough to protect me if I receive a complaint to eBay?
