I am at my wit's end dealing with our local post office.
When my regular post man is away, his substitute performs so badly I sometimes wonder how he keeps his job-
when I schedule a pickup,he would not come to the door,if it is pickup in the mail box,he would ignore it.
He would also misplace our mail,we would end up with each other's mail il,sometimes mail which belong to a different street.
When I called the post office,no one picks up the phone, after a few minutes, the phone line just die.
I have to try 3-5 times and finally get hold of a clerk ,every statement coming out of her is I dont know?
Once I complained to USPS ,they pass my complaint to that post office and they called and promise to come every day until my mail man returns.
I dont believe them, and I am right, they came once and thats it.
7/10 SchEDULE pickups are no shows, yesterday,I saw a truck swung by my house, stopped at my house ,turned around and left?
My house is in good condition, there is no barricade, obstruction or barking dog and it is daylight time,so why?
I called 1-800-USPS,the lady filed a complaing for me with consumer affair (usps),I suggest someone with managerial ability knowing how to run a post office should investigate, may be it has been overtaken by ALIENS from Mars?
My other option is to drop off at a nearby mail service store since I rent a mail box from them, but now they told me their mail man has a stroke and in hospital and they are not sure if they have regular pickup daily ,so dont count on them!
Since I print all my shipping labels online and it has my city ,if I go to another city ,IT may not accept my packages.
any idea what I should do?
I am an Ebay seller,if my packages are not delivered in a timely manner,i could lose money, any suggestion would be helpful

I think I would go down to the post office in person and speak with the post master.....and for the time being, I would be prepared to make a mad dash to the nearest PO in time to get an acceptance scan, since usps pickup has been so unreliable later. I'm not exactly positive on this but I think you can drop your packages off in another nearby city. I've done it with no problems myself.

All I can tell you is you're not alone. I've always gotten good service from the regular mail carriers, but like you, when it's a substitute carrier, all bets are off.
I've had mail (everything from bank statements to medications) mis-delivered for years. I've tracked ebay purchases as out for delivery, only to have to chase down the carrier as he was leaving my neighborhood, with my item still on the truck.
The level of concern for your mail is highest with the individual carrier, and goes down from there.
The higher up the chain of command you go the less they care - the attitude seems to be 'yeah, so, what do you want from me?' This from supervisors and postal inspectors. I've been to my local post office so often, most of the counter help and I are on a first name basis. I wish I could give something more positive here, but there just isn't anything.

Our service from USPS has been lately somewhat of a disaster also. Thigs do happen so I am always prepared to do what is necessary to get my package to the PO. Seems our normal PO delivery lady is on vacation. Her alternate is sick and the Po has one carrier that just went on deployment. This has brought diaster to our service as the remainder of our carriers are taking on the load. Our mail went from 3 pm to 6:20 pm. Not to panic on my end as I know things happen I jump in my pickup and head for the PO. I have then filled my commitment to ebay shipping. Sorry for the inconvenience but you might want to get prepared as I think it will only get worse.
PS: God bless my normal carrier is now off vacation!!!!!! Smiles for her!!!
