Local Pickup Issue - Did not get a code

     I had a local buyer buy a postcard from me and request a meet-up to get the card.  When we met, he said that he could not find the QR code for me to scan.  It was was below zero out and I let him go, figuring that he could send me the code later. Now he says that he never received a confirmation e-mail with the code.  He has already left feedback and offered to PayPal me the money if I have to cancel the sale.  

     I contacted eBay support and they said that if he left feedback they could mark the sale as picked up. After the customer left the feedback, I call support again and they said that they can not mark the sale as picked-up.  The also said that if I get a hit on my seller metrics they would clear it.

    Has anyone else had this happen?  Is there any other way to mark this sale as delivered?  Can anyone tell me the Facebook Group that the US support team follows?

Most likely the person did not receive a code because they did not properly select local pickup at checkout (I see you offer both on your ads so this is highly possible), whether intentionally or by mistake. The other option, surprise, is that they lied.

There is no way to mark it picked up without you scanning the code on the buyer's phone or entering the code manually.

The proper thing to do would have been to refund the buyer on the spot, have him rebuy and then scan the code.

Right now you are at the mercy of the buyer filing an INR claim and you have no way to prove you gave it to them. Feedback is never proof of delivery.

He was a very honest and nice guy.  I canceled the sale and he immediately rebought the card and we completed the sale.  I am glad that it was only a $7 item, it was great lesson learned. It could have been really bad.
