Local Pickup Buyer Scan Code

I am selling locally and buyers are receiving emails a QR code and the text below.  It does not appear that I have a way to scan the code.  Ideas?

Please have the seller scan the code with the eBay App. If facing issues, enter the 6 digit code.

I wouldnt even think of accepting payment via MP for a local pickup item. Cash in hand only.

^This and DO NOT meet at your home if at all possible. Choose a mutually agreeable public place.

Cash in hand is not allowed except in specific categories. Otherwise eBay says local pickup payments must include an electronic method. Maybe you haven't kept up with changes. To use the QR Code you must pay in the mobile ap and make pickup arrangements through the ap.

When you scan or manually enter these codes, the item will immediately be marked as delivered but you'll still need to mark the item as paid if you collect cash at the time of delivery.

It sounds like the QR code will appear w/o payment if you select "pay on pickup"

I believe that you are still allowed to accept cash or even check by mail ***If the buyer requests it***.  And a surprising number of buyers still do request just that. I admit that the recent clampdown on exchange of information in  messages has probably limited the number doing so.

For local pickup sales, I realize that you are supposed to offer online payment options, that does not mean you have to honor them. Buyers typically prefer to pay cash anyway, they usually like to examine/test/try on the item before paying.

When I was actively selling until early this year, maybe 5% of our sales were cash and local pickup, just had to mark as "paid" so eBay got their cut.

QR codes are not being sent to the buyers..don't use local pickup...facebook marketplace is the way to go.

Since when did eBay become so difficult and so expensive to sell on??  This qr code is clunky, I just had someone pick up and item they bought and I scanned the code several times and even entered the 6 digit number once.  I still haven't received confirmation that the code worked and that I will get paid.  What gives ebay?  Do you want people to use your services or not because I feel a whole lot of greed right now!
