I recently listed a doll for sale, and thought I had set the listing as I always do with calculated shipping paid by buyer. The item sold and has not been paid for yet, but when I go to check the sale info it says it’s now an item for local pickup and the buyer’s shipping address is in Russia (I’m in California). I don’t know how it was set to local pickup in the first place, but I’m also skeptical of the Russian shipping address since I don’t ship outside the US and they wouldn’t be local anyway...
I sent the buyer a message apologizing for the accidental local pickup option, and asked them to cancel the transaction so that I could relist with the correct shipping settings. They would be welcome to re-purchase with a US shipping address. Is this the best way to go about this or should I just cancel the transaction considering the potentially sketchy circumstances? I’m a relatively new seller and have never dealt with this kind of situation before. Any advice would be appreciated!
