Length of time to wait on a return

How long do you have to wait on a return. I sold the item  to a buyer . They wanted to return the item and have not sent it back. The item was sold on Sept 8th...how much longer should I wait ? I have contacted buyer many times no communication back at all.

Well once you accept the return, you wouldn't contact the buyer again. Don't poke the sleep bear and all. If they opened a return request, they were given 5 business days to return the item. You can call eBay now and have them close the return. Or you can wait for it to automatically close.

How long does i take for a case to automatically close ???

around 30 days but if you've been contacting the buyer through the return request, you may have extended the deadline (Its been said that contacting the buyer like that, after accepting the return, extends the deadline but I don't know if its true)
