I went in to my seller performance and saw that my late shipment rate was nearing 3% which can effect my rating. So I check the report and all of the transactions that I was dinged on show the item shipped the next business day after payment was received. I'm not sure what can be done. Unless a buyer specifically asks for me to hold an item before shipping, with few exceptions it goes out the next business day. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

To be clear, any order that comes in by midnight tonight, you'll ship tomorrow?
Sorry to ask what sounds like a basic question, but we see somewhat regularly sellers confused over what qualifies as next business day. A lot of sellers think there's a cut off like 5pm, when really the cut off is end of day (midnight). And other sellers think weekend orders don't have to ship until Tuesday even though Monday is the next business day.

You can increase your shipping time to 3 days.
Are you shipping as soon as eBay says to ship or are you waiting for payment to you?
"next business day after payment was received" is this payment to you or when eBay says to ship.
Are you waiting for a USPS scan/receipt so you can show when they received the package?

and just to add to the wastingtime post.................... for an Ohio seller Cali time and Ohio time difference can cause a "business day" difference. Like when the sale is a 2 AM Ohio time.
I have been made aware by poster wastingtime that this policy has changed. Good to hear.

That's not an issue @dy60609 . eBay changed it years ago to work off the seller's local time for the cutoff.

Just to clarify, it’s specifically Late Shipment Rate, not Tracking uploaded on time and validated?
On my business’s selling account, we have a late shipment rate of 0.19%, all from requests from customers. If your handling time is one day or longer, and you’re shipping items the next business day after you get the notification that the order has been paid and is awaiting shipment, then that number should be low.

I'm having the same problem. I have "Next Business Day". Example, buyer paid Sunday evening and eBay has next to item "Ship By June 2" (Midnight Monday). My letter carrier picks up outgoing mail June 2 (Monday) afternoon but the first tracking does not show until Tuesday morning. The reason why this is happening is because USPS has eliminated the evening pickup of outgoing mail at your local post office. So all outgoing mail sits overnight at your local post office. Isn't that special! Another slap in the face, rates are going up July 13. I contacted eBay and told them I better not receive any defects in my Seller Dashboard because of this! So far, so good. Don't be afraid to call them if you think you have receive any type of injustice because of USPS.

Greetings and thanks for your response. After speaking with an eBay representative and doing some deeper digging, the answer seems to be that my local Post Office is not scanning in my packages in a timely manner thus I get dinged for not shipping the next business day which I am required to do to maintain my Top Rated seller status. In looking at the items that I was dinged on, they all occurred in about a 6 month window and then the stopped. Literally from last October until I think March this year. 15 items total. I know with certainty that with one or two exceptions, everything was shipped same day or next business day. All that said, it appears that my issues are with my local Post Office and not eBay. I'm guessing that given the time frame, there was probably some issues with the seasonal help. Thanks for taking time to reply!
