Your listing states "pickup only".  Why not stick to that?

I wouldn't dream of it. The Shipping expense alone would deter buyers, and if it arrived damaged, you would be on the hook for a full refund, regardless of whether you wanted to pay extra to have it shipped back to you. Local Pickup Only.

I wouldn't.  I wouldn't sell them on ebay.  Ebay is better suited for smaller, lighter items that ship easily.

there are quite a few sellers on here who appear to run auto graveyards/junkyards

I used to go to Lou`s in Wllow Grove PA back in the 70`s and enjoyed it immensley

looking for those silver coins in the back seat crevices and gloveboxes was so much fun

auto parts dealer have to ship bulky items and I am sure that could give you the skinny on it.

TBTS to big tio ship.

Ten years ago it would not have been a problem but with the flood of shipping, dimensional weight and higher costs it's not practical.

I knew someone who used to sell meteorites and they used freight options.  I'd also sell local pickup, though.

Imagine the scenario… the buyer files an item not as described and you get to pay return shipping. That was not likely factored in to your original pricing.

If it’s listed with local pick up only, do not veer from that.

The problem is that car seat is quite large and heavy.  The dimensions means that it would be an oversize package and subject to additional charges DIMM weight calculation.  This is the reason to avoid shipping packages where the dimensions exceed 12" on all sides.  Oversize package pricing is determined by:

Multiply the length by the width by the height to obtain the cubic inches.  To obtain the dimensional weight in pounds, divide the cubic inch result by 166.  To obtain the dimensional weight in kilograms, divide the cubic inch result by 366  (cm).

Oversize items are usually better sold with local pickup.

I just deleted my entire post because I see this is a seat for a sedan, not one of those baby car seats. Ha. I would stick to local pickup, but there is a Motors board if you want to ask the experts over there.
