Label Printint Problems

Has anyone else had problems recently with label printing?  Every time I go to print a label, it seems like the programmers have again modified the printing program.  Sometimes it prints nearly microscopic.  Sometimes it moves things so that part of the label is in the margin and doesn't print.  Sometimes it changes from portait to landscape.  This seems to affect both packing slips and labels.  My workaround is to print to pdf, then print from the pdf file where eBay doesn't have anyone messing it all up.

I've printed dozens of labels and all of the sudden see this changing.  Am I the only one, or is this a known eBay issue?

Yeah, you are not alone!  We regularly see threads started where sellers are having label printing problems.

From a business perspective not being able to print labels when one wants is or needs to is a business problem.  Seller is locked into only one vendor and when that one vendor fails they have to stop and wait for an issue to get fixed.

When I hit that issue a few years ago, I said, "This is stupid, every time eBay has a glitch, I have to stop shipping and try to figure out a fix."  Soon I realized that it meant I shipped not when I wanted, but when things worked like normal.  So I signed up for a free account with PirateShip (others are Stamps, PP, etc) and now if there is an eBay glitch, just switch over there, print postage and be done. 

THEN I can schedule time to figure out the glitch and how to get things to work.  So I am not "caught" when there is a glitch and do not have to go into panic mode to get my shipments out.

I'm starting to see you and PirateShip have a thing going on. 

Its kind of like my affair with the USPS legal flat rate envelope and Rate A box. If anything happened to them I might lose my mind. (Not that it hasn't happened before... my mind that is)

I noticed this last night. I'm going to try to figure out a solution.

The labels printed in portrait, yesterday - not landscape. In addition, the print was pretty small.

I have also saved labels as a PDF as a workaround in the past.

Yeah, if only I got a commission or even a thank you for as much as I mention them.

It is such an easy solution with no cost.  I'm always looking for ways to streamline things and if that means backup plans for bottleneck issue, then so be it.  I'd rather be done shipping that mess around trying to get eBay to fix a glitch.
