In the past several months, I've opened a couple of cases where things were not as described. Usually the seller and I don't need to open a case (I post a picture of the broken dishes or ask about the missing mop pads) and all is resolved. OTOH, I like to be able to leave positive feedback if the seller is helpful with my problem or follow up if the seller is not. Recently, purchases have been relocated to obscure parts of the website when you get a refund or open a case. Since ebay has started making it hard to find transactions where you are refunded or a case is in progress, is this by design or is this just very bad programming?

I have neither hidden these items (unless ebay has 'helpfully' done it for me) nor let the timeframe lapse. When a case is opened, you have to go through the resolution center to find it again, and sometimes it doesn't appear there until you try to open it again. Then it says you already have a case in progress and shows you a link.
Items with a case open used to show in your purchases, but not any more. I find this incredibly vexing.
