Item returned automatically to sender when it was in my mailbox and i did not order it to be returne

I ordered a package to my home and due to family reasoms had to step out of town for a little bit when it arrived. I checked the tracking on the say it was supposed to arrive but couldnt get it till the next day. When i woke up it said that the item was bieng shipped back  to the sender. Why did this happen amd what do i do to fix it?

Did you have a hold on your mail that timed out?

If that is the case, the seller will most likely honor the sale... but may have to charge you for shipping on the re-ship.

What if the shipping was free will i still have to pay fpr it to be shipped again?

Why should the seller be paying for

reshipment, you need to address the issue with your delivery carrier.
