Item not received

So I ordered some masks knowing that it will hard pressed to get a reasonable seller selling such masks.

 

The seller got the tracking number. However, when I got to usps tracking, it said that usps is still waiting for the item. So the seller never delivered item to usps for about one week (the week during which it was supposed to be delivered). The ebay system somehow showed it was in transit. 

 

On the day ebay allowed me to open a case, the seller changed the shipping information. Now I cannot see the see the tracking information. All it shows that the its 'economy shipping'.
 

If we can see the original usps tracking number, we can see if the item was delivered to usps or not. It was obviously not, as I checked. However, since now the tracking number is removed by seller, I cant see that.

 

There are 5 out of 33 feedbacks on seller in last one month where buyers never received an item. Seller has now no items for sale.

 

I dont need the mask two weeks from now.

Can I get the money back?

The bigger issue I see is that ebay put my case on hold:

eBay Customer Support has placed the case on hold until Apr. 27 to allow time to provide additional documentation.If your issue is resolved, you can close this case without waiting for a response from Customer Support.The seller provided tracking that shows the item is currently on its way to you. You should receive it soon. ---- Why cant ebay look at usps website with the tracking number to see if the item was ever taken by usps? If the seller generated the tracking number and never delivered item to usps, why the case needs to be put on hold?

Your seller knows how eBay works:

 

If tracking shows movement within the last 7 days, we'll place the case on hold for 5 days for a domestic case or 10 days for an international case to allow more time for the package to be delivered. Tracking is reviewed before any decision is made. Let me know if I can clarify anything else Smiley Happy

 

eBay is looking for "movement within the last 7 days".

So your seller uploads a second tracking number (before eBay looks at the first tracking number), which starts the 7 days all over again at Day 1.

I have the same problem (thank you for your post, I took screen shots of my transaction in case the seller tries the same switch-a-roo on me).  I contacted the seller (I would not be surprised if it is the same person) and told him/her that I wanted a refund, explained that the item was not delivered to or picked up by the Post Office and that I believe they are committing fraud.  I said in plain English that if Ebay did not have sense enough to smell a rat, the NYS Attorney General Consumer Affairs Division did.

With all the feedback about buyers not receiving their purchase, Ebay should be all over this seller.  Instead Ebay comes up with petty rules that affect their good sellers.
