Item has yet to be shipped a day after expected handling time and seller is ignoring my messages.

So like the title says, I bought the item the 23rd and now it is the 26th. I did contact the seller about the shipping cost originally ($5 on a $0.99 item) but the seller explained the cost so I dropped the issue entirely and paid for the item as per the binding agreement when you make a bid. The 24th I was on a clinical rotation when the buyer asked if I would like a refund so I didn't get to answer back until the next day (the 25). I answered in the negative and said I paid for and will receive the item; stating my appreciation of the seller understanding my worries and apologizing for not answering back in a timely manner. It is now the 26th, I never got an answer back/confirmation that the seller would be shipping the item and I messaged them today asking when my item would be shipped and... nothing so far. I don't mind waiting for the item, but I don't appreciate being ignored when it comes to my concerns and I'm worried not responding immediately the 24th came off as insulting to the seller and now they aren't planning on sending me item and want to push me into filing a refund anyways so they don't have to deal with me (I know that was a run on sentence lols I just quickly wrote it out lol). Am I over thinking this or is this a genuine concern that I might have to deal with once the expected delivery date (the 4th of next month) has passed (if this is still an issue then).

Does the seller have " same day, or 1 day" handling time? If not, then that item has not yet missed the handling/shipping date.

Seller may/may not ship.  Much ado about a $0.99 item.

Did the listing state/seller state, that "tracking" would be used. If not it may have been shipped.

Your main concern at this point should focus on the "estimated" delivery date. Also remember that it is an "estimate" from eBay, and not a guaranteed date. Give it a little time 🙂

I pick both. You're overthinking it, but you may have a genuine concern. If the item isn't to you (at least) one day past the Estimated Delivery Date, open an Item Not Received claim. You'll be made whole.

Good advice on being able to use the MBG, but......................................  in this instance, as the buyer has posted, the shipping of this item may well have been delayed by the buyer not being available to reply to the sellers question immediately.

I know you state (at least), but In this instance, and this just my worthless opinion, (and we all know what they say about opinions) but given those circumstances I would certainly allow a bit of leeway beyond that "1 day after"  🙂

You bought an item on the 23rd (Thursday). Sounds like there was an issue, so the seller didn't send it until you answered the concern on the 25th (Saturday).  Probably PAST the time they could get to the post office to send out, or not able to ship on the weekend, or closed.

Today is Sunday the 25th. Post offices are closed. I'm not sure why are you so concerned?

Shipping cost is totally independent of item cost. Even the lightest weight (4 oz. or less) parcel costs about $5 with tracking and most sellers use tracking in order to prove that a buyer received their shipment. In fact, after paying fees, the seller probably lost money on this sale!

The seller probably thought that with your impatience, you were unhappy and kindly offered to cancel. You could have accepted the offer of cancellation.

Sellers aren't required to answer questions. They're required to ship items that have been purchased and paid for. Some people (as IRL) are better communicators than others! 

Would you post the item number? The seller could very well have a 2, 3 or more day handling time and may not even be late in shipping!

if the buyer has one day handling then its late shipping, it would have needed to be shipped on Friday.

two day shipping means its on time if its shipped on Monday 2-27

If the last estimated delivery date is 03/04/23, not sure why you are getting so concerned so early.  The seller is NOT required to respond to your concerns or to ship immediately.

You can't open an item not received case until at least one day after the last estimated delivery date.

Why would any seller want to push you into asking for cancellation? And, yes, you ARE overthinking this.

The handling time to ship was 2 days from purchase that's why I was worried about it. However they shipped it just now so alls well that ends well. Thank you!

It was a 2 day handling, I think I was just more worried that I rubbed the buyer the wrong way and they disliked me greatly. I shouldn't have worried, since they shipped the item just now. Me and my over anxiety has made a fool of me again lols. Alls well that ends well I guess. 🤷‍♀️

Good that it seems to be working out OK.

Just to keep in mind for the future, as 1tuna posted, 2 day would be Monday. eBay does not consider "weekends, or Holidays" for handling time.

It's OK to worry. No harm, no foul. Just an eBay learning experience.

I'm truly glad it worked out for you. But just a comment on something I noticed:

Just as you were in the middle of something and couldn't answer the seller's question right away

 At the beginning of the transaction, quite possibly the seller had an outstanding issue blocking him/ her from getting back to you and mailing your item right away at the other end of the transaction.

A lot can happen to any one of us... Health emergency, car accident, family crisis. The list goes on. I will ask a seller a question - once- if I have concerns, and then after that, no more thoughts until the estimated delivery date comes and goes. If my item doesn't arrive a few days past that, time to file an INR. 

I don't post this to cause offense... It was just an observation. Again, I'm glad it worked out.
