Item doesn't work, what to do if No returns

Hi. I recently bought a scalextric which was described as good condition and 'working as it should'. I messaged the seller before buying asking if they had tested the track and if it was definitely working and they replied it was all good. I tested today and one car barely moves around track . It says no returns so should I message seller first or contact eBay as item is not as described.  Thanks

A "no returns" policy does not apply to items that are not as described, such as an item that it described as working, but does not work.  If the item is not as described, you can return it.  I would contact the seller first.  You can open a case for Not As Described and you'll get a shipping label so you can send it back for a full refund.

I would contact the seller for advice about the item. There could be an adjustment that needs to be made. If you can't get it to work then open a case. Personally this is what I would do.

Hats off to you for communicating with the buyer instead of just opening a return. It is rare that buyers do any more.
