Well I have been an eBayer for many years .Have had pretty good luck keeping winning bidders happy. Now I just got a notice from eBay that a bidder wants to return the item he won. First I've heard of it ,nothing came from the bidder. O K . I will play the game . Well there is nothing for me to say or do. I can not even voice a concern. Is this right? I have no problem with returning the bidder's money. I would just like to have some involvement in the process. Now this return is over an Axe head. Here is the bidder's reason for the return " Axe does not fit" How can a axe head not fit? Beats me. I am currently waiting for the return of the Double Bit Axe Head before I refund . I had a buyer receive an item damaged in the mail . He or She contacted me directly and got an immediate refund from me. Just sharing the fun. moxiedrinker

You best bet is to just accept the return. A doesn't fit reason for a return means the buyer will pay the return shipping and you do not have to refund the shipping charge they paid when you get the axe head back.
You safest bet is not to make an issue out of the reason for a return with the buyer or eBay- very good chance you will not win. For some reason the axe head doesn't fit the buyer handle. Having grown up in a home that had a a wood burning heater i swung and axe or two - bothfelling axe & double bladed. When a handle broke we had to replace it and often had to trim the handle to make it fit with my Barlow pocket knife. This buyer may thought the handle would just slip in without modification - who knows. But gracefully & professionally accept the return is the sound advise of this ' 44 model.

Your return policy is 30 days, buyer pays return shipping.
That means the buyer can return an item for any reason or they don't have to have a reason.

Ah, let this go, not worth thinking about it. I've heard of buyers who leave positive FB then two weeks later they file for a return. The world is full of different people who don't react as we expect them to.
It sounds like this will be an easy return for you so concentrate on that aspect of it and keep on selling. Hopefully you'll never hear from them again. Best of luck to you....

Thanks for the thoughts. I intend to do just that. I have worked in the woods since the tender age of 18 when I bought my first chainsaw. Always have had the use of several good axes on hand when working. I always try to treat bidders as I would like to be treated. If He had just contacted me I would have givin Him a full return after the axe head was returned.

I grew up in a timber town. I still burn wood in a wood stove. Your post gave me a good laugh.
Thank you for posting.

Well it's over and done. Instead of giving back the bare bones refund ,I returned his postage as well. I still wished he had just contacted me directly and we could have had this done with weeks ago. Now it's relisted and will sell again. Did not fit?
