I sold iPhone SE 2020.
The phone was new in a box unlocked actually never used
25 days later The buyer wrote me saying that the phone does not work in Mexico
I wrote him back telling him the phone was made to work in the US.
Ebay emailed me with a return stating that the item was not Described
And then I had to except the return. I informed them of the first email from the buyer stating that the phone was fine but did not work in Mexico. Nowhere in the ad for the phone that I stated it worked anywhere but the US the market was sold in.

@lupahun123
If you want something back before refunding, accept the return and pay return shipping.
If you don't, Ebay can refund the buyer from your account and let them keep the phone.

And then I had to except the return.
I think you mean you (had to) accept the return. That was the correct thing to do. Good work!

It is generally known that tech/electronics is a category that experiences high levels of fraud, if not the highest, on ebay.

Your listings are showing that you ship to various countries using ebays global shipping program so if you have an item that works just in the US it would be a good idea to turn off the gsp on that listing.

I excepted the return. The buyer just returned the phone with their information on it. Cloud locked
my $400 phone that is useless to me. I don’t have the buyers password I cannot reset the phone. And somehow it appeals Ebay judged against me. In a very disgusting way. Stating that they cannot prove that the damage the phone being locked was caused by me or the buy I received the phone back with the buyers name in the phone. This is disgusting Ebay is a garbage company

eBay is a disgusting company
they have there except as a solution **bleep**
Someone sent me back a phone with their information in it. It is an iPhone it is now cloud locked there is nothing I can do to unlock the phone. It’s a $400 phone it was absolutely brand new when I send it to the buyer. I received back the buyer did not include the original package he did not remove his information or password from the phone. And Ebay has judged against me. How is this possible the only proof I need and the proof that I have is the phone is in the buyers name. Contacting Apple can prove this. Anyone who knows anything about an iPhone once it’s connected
to your iCloud with your password you are the only one who can reset the phone. This is disgusting unbelievable I will not give up. I have to take other measures like contacting the person whose information is in my phone. It shows her email address it shows her name. eBay is a neglectful company to put people buyers and sellers and these type of situations. It is dangerous but it seems I have no other avenues. Because eBay is absolutely insane unreasonable. I told them a person sent back a phone that is locked in their name and Ebay thinks that this is acceptable

At the root of this this is the attitudes we are dealing with.
eBay is a scum bag company
Six former eBay employees have been charged with brutal Assault against an e-commerce newsletter. The Department of Justice alleges that James Baugh, David Harville, Stephanie Popp, Brian Gilbert, Stephanie Stockwell, and Veronica Zea viciously harassed the couple who published the newsletter for their negative eBay coverage — sending them online threats and
abuse, mailing live insects and a “bloody pig face” mask, and driving to their Massachusetts home to surveil them. The plan was allegedly hatched after eBay’s now-former CEO objected to the newsletter editor’s coverage and told another executive to “take her down.”
Several of the employees charged were in upper-level positions with eBay: Baugh was eBay’s global security and resiliency director, Harville was director of global resiliency, Popp was senior manager of global intelligence, and Gilbert was a former police captain who handled security and safety at eBay’s North American offices. according to an affidavit the team was attempting to stifle negative coverage from the newsletter, as well as insults from an anonymous commenter.

Uh, NO. It sounds like you simply don't know HOW to sell on Ebay, which is your problem, not anyone else's. You knew you were selling a US-only product, and yet you sold to a Mexico buyer. Participating in the Global Shipping Program was the DEFAULT setting when you created the listing, but you had the option to turn it OFF, and if you didn't know that, well that's the definition of ignorance. Did you not read everything on the page before you hit the 'LIST' button? Don't you think sellers are just as responsible to read everything as buyers are?
As another person said, electronics are the riskiest person-to-person item, and that's true for buying as well as selling, and it's true for other private seller websites, not just Ebay. If you didn't know that, well there's additional ignorance on your part, for which you cannot blame Ebay.
I have had INCREDIBLE cooperation from Ebay reps, siding with me as a seller, when I could prove I did everything right. You received a returned item less valuable than you sent because of your OWN failure to exclude buyers outside the US, PERIOD.
And what he H does the bloody pig mask scandal have to do with your stupid phone? NOTHING. You are just upset that members here didn't jump to agree with you about how your phone sale failure is proof that "It's not safe to sell on Ebay" so you desperately reached for some totally-unrelated news story about Ebay.
But your subject line is correct, if you change it to "It's not safe <for idiots> to sell on Ebay."

Seems you don’t even know what you’re speaking about the buyer was from Arlington Texas that’s in the US. Regardless return the item without your information. What does Ebay tell the buyer before they return an item original packaging unlock removed all information

The bloody pig mass have everything to do with my stupid phone most companies run from the top down. If this is the behavior of the CEO. Then purposely knowing you’re ripping somebody off will not bother the other employees.

This reply with partial sentences strung together with no punctuation makes it pretty clear you are not literate enough for business where written English is the only form of communication between buyer, seller and the platform. And if I didn't know the buyer's address was in Texas, that's because you never mentioned that before. You also haven't said what makes you think they actually live in Mexico, since you sent the item to Texas. Anyway, it's all pretty clear that it's not safe for YOU to sell on Ebay.

All of the people involved with that were fired long before your stupid phone sale. So how do you explain that, Sherlock? Were the non-participants already infected with the shiestiness virus by the pig mask people, before they were removed from the scene? I have seen people show incredible desperation to avoid blame in my lifetime, but you really take the cake, LOL!

You stated that the buyer's address was listed as being located in Arlington Texas. Did they use a freight forwarder to purchase your phone? If that was the case I would appeal as that would void their Money Back Guarantee.
I only sell domestic and was able to block Non US PayPal accounts. However, I can no longer block Non US buyers because eBay's Managed Payment program does not give me that option.
