Good day fellow E -bayers. I am so disgusted with the multiple issues I am encountering lately with the Post Office. Parcels not arriving or arriving late or tracking s not uploading on time or damaged goods. Some have giving me negative reviews which I have to fight to remove. Why are we been blamed for circumstances not within our control? The Post Office is one institution that I have always admired and commend but now... I do hope they go back to been more reliable.

I think the moral of this story is.... next Christmas, don't sell during the month of December, unless you want to take the chance to give your stuff away and pay the postage to do it.

All delivery carriers had these same issues this month. The USPS isn't the only one. What have you done to work on some of your late deliveries? Filed online? Talked with your Postmaster or Manager? Re-evaluated how you package and ship since you mention damaged goods? Do you get scans of your items by the Postal clerks or are you taking advantage of their free pickup service where the mailman scans when picking up?
I have mailed tens of thousands of packages over the past 45 years and have only had one damaged or lost package. Yes, this Holiday season was a challenge with late deliveries but I still did not have any lost or damaged parcels. The USPS is already showing signs of getting through the backlog of packages. Let's face it, this year has been a total freak show if you ask me. We can only hope that 2021 doesn't repeat 2020.
Good luck!

Don't use the post office in November and December for parcels. Use couriers and where any courier parcel is running rate raise inquiries on each one. The post office can no longer handle the usual mad rush before Xmas.

And just an FYI, the USPS handles more volume in one day than UPS and FedEx combined handle in one year. Also, FedEx and UPS dropship THEIR packages to almost every Post Office every day in the country for the last mile, as they call it. Try the other carriers if you believe they can do a better job. It's always worth a try. You may be surprised by the rate differences and pickup charges though. Again, Good LUCK!

Same exact deal is happening on Amazon. There is no mercy this month here nor there. Like others have said, if you have to sell in mid November and December, use UPS or Fedex or put the store in vacation mode.

At least Fed Ex is now picking up from thousands of new places - one is a dollar store 10 minutes from me. Better that driving 45 miles or paying 12-15.00 for a pickup.
BUT, if you use Fed Ex, open your own account and link it to get the discounts. That way you can contact them directly, as you are then the shipper of record, not ebay.

I get it - things are bad. But, it is all relative - the usps is still delivering. My lost/in limbo shipments are at ~3-5% for December. Considering the situation, I’m pleased.
I’ve had to move to a heavy percentage of Priority Mail, which isn’t fun, but that is the price to pay for speedier shipments. Yes, those aren’t super fast - some delivered within two days, others taking up to ten days.
