ebay's notification icon lets us know when an item has shipped. This part is fine.
Problem: Clicking the notification link for the shipped item does not link to the item being shipped, it's just taking us to our "Purchase History" page.
Would be nice to it linked to the "view order details" page of the particular item shipped.

Since eBay put the big blue button the purchase history page to open the tracking pop-up, it's not really necessary for it to go to the specific order details page, is it?
Adding to that, the notification comes when the label is printed, but tracking may not populate for 24 hours or more. The notification is more of an alert and checking tracking that early isn't productive.
I guess I could see it for power-buyers that buy several items every day and have too much to scroll through, but those buyers probably aren't checking every order as it ships. The average buyer isn't going to purchase so much in a week that they can't easily spot the order on the purchase history page.
Why do you think it would be more beneficial to go to the order details page? I feel like there's something I'm not considering and interested to know more about your line of thought.

Welcome to the card/tcg world. It's exactly that.
