So I know for first class packages I have to put in weight but the dimensions don't matter when creating the listing that is, yes they matter when creating the label. But for priority mail padded flat rate envelopes nothing is going to change the price of the shipping due to then being flat rate, so does the right weight and dimensions matter at all when creating the listing? And how about when shipping I'm assuming I would have to weigh it then for some reason but with it being flat rate is it needed to put the right weight or can I approximate and be good to go and not have to weigh it at all. Any responses would be helpful thanks.

I use Flat Rate Padded Envelopes all the Time - they really come in handy and keep postage down for the buyers. USPS had a commercial on TV promoting their Flat Rate Envelopes and Boxes with the Slogan - "If It Fits, It Ships". No dimensions or weight needed.

No, you don't have to enter the weight, that's why it is flat rate.

With USPS Priority flat rate you don't need dimensions (they are already described in the selection)
You just have to make sure to not go over the weight limit (70 pounds?)

As long it weighs under 70 pounds you are good to go.
