Is there a way to go back to the classic label printing format?

I am getting very frustrated with the NEW label printing format. It takes about 60% longer to do the same thing that worked well with the classic format. I counted and it takes me twice as long, more than twice the number of clicks to accomplish the same thing and that is only if it is just first class. If it is priority it takes even longer due to it not letting me update without measuring each package and entering it. It is a HUGE waste of time.

And on top of that, Ebay's software keeps deleting my message to seller and unchecking the message check box. So it not only takes more than twice as long but I now have to type a new message again and hope it is there the next time I go to print a label.

If I were shipping a large amount of items per day it would add a considerable amount of wasted time to the process. Is there any way to go back to what worked well and get off this new ridiculous new format.

On the top right of the screen there should be a clickable link that says "Go back to classic label format"... I always do that... but I don't know how long that's going to last...

Option is gone for some.

Gone on one of my accounts.

Still there on wife's account.

For anyone that can still access the classic page, go to the top and where it asks how we can improve, tell them to go back to the classic page that worked well for everyone. We should do this everyday several times a day to flood them with it.

The horse is dead. It will do no good to beat it any more. They will not be maintaining the "classic" shipping label.

They have delayed "forcing" the "new label experience" on us for quite some time now. Classic was projected to go away at the end of Summer 2018, but has been delayed as they continue to tweak the "new label" to make it, if not work well, at least usable.  There is still has all the needless clicking/scrolling, but it has had improvements since 1st tossed at us.

Efforts by users would better serve improvement by letting them know(go to the top and where it asks how we can improve) what is not working for them. Just asking to go back to "classic" is a waste of time, because it is not going to happen. The hammer & chisel have made their mark. We could keep typing "go back to classic" until the letters wear off the keyboard, and it will change nothing.

I respectfully disagree but unfortunately you could be right. I will still keep beating them. If they get to the point where they are sick of the complaints and actually reason on it something better may happen. But  you can be sure it streamlines ebay's cash flow or improves it ....but they don't realize it is only temporary for them.... When sellers leave, they make $0.00 from them. Many have already left and more are planning to. My suggestion to anyone on Ebay to be migrating and building some where else so when ebay goes you will already be established. That's my plans

I totally agree 100%.  I am not happy with the new printing format. The classic was much better. And,  it is costing me money as well.  The system will not let you send a 16 ounce package USPS first class.  It automatically changes to priority mail which can cost twice the postage.  USPS allows first class up to 16 ounces.  I am very frustrated.   Notified E Bay but, of course, nothing has been changed.

eBay "blues"  have posted here on the boards that you can put in 15 ounces for those packages. (rate is the same)  I am not going to chase down the post, but it was stated that they confirmed with USPS that it would be OK. Only problem you might run into may be at a "retail counter" when being scanned for acceptance, but then again they are just supposed to accept item, and let the new APV setup catch any problems.

Printing the label at PayPal is an option for the 15 oz. + 1st class items. I do not like the PayPal printing as the "online label record" does not have the buyer ID/item title/listing number printed on it.

Re: Is there a way to go back to the classic label printing format?

A total aside but has anyone found a location to change the ship from zip code? It was available on the classic label page. My return address is fine, but the closest post office for me to drop stuff off at is not the same zip code.

While I think it is ridiculous that the post office cannot just track how many packages they get a day based off of scans, there are a couple of counter clerks that give me a hard time about the zip code not being changed. It's not like I switch zones or anything to affect the postage rate.

I would just print it out at 15 oz and ship it and hope for the best. If it was delivered postage due, bring it back on Ebay and get a refund from them. If you push it, it would happen. Been there done that when it incorrectly charged me on shipping

The post office does track how many packages it gets from scans and if they tell you different, they are wrong. All the prepaid items we ship are scanned and the postal system uses the scan information they get to decide weather to close or keep an office open or not.  If you ship from a different zip code it may take longer to get to where it is supposed to go but I sometimes ship two towns up because it is convenient for me and sometimes if I'm on my way to Maine from Vermont I stop in Northern Nh on the way to ship stuff because the local PO isn't open when I leave.

I believe if you go to a account then address then primary shipping address you can change that there.  I have a very nice clerk but I just walk in and go by everyone who may be waiting in line and set them on the counter and she says thank you and I leave. If I'm in an unfamiliar PO I do pretty much the same thing and just say these are all set prepaid and walk off. I don't worry about the receipt because I keep all of my email that is the receipt for the shipping label.

The ship from Zip Code can be changed by clicking on "edit" under the ship from/return to. You can change the "ship from", and the return will remain the same. For the ship from office you can use "general delivery" for the street address.

I try to use the Zip for the office that I ship from, but it is not a requirement.  The following was posted in another thread about this. This is directly from the Domestic Mail Manual:

4.6.3 Deposit of Mail

Mailers must deposit or enter mailpieces with metered or PC Postage indicia according to the following conditions:

Mailers may deposit Priority Mail Express (including Flat Rate), Priority Mail (including Flat Rate), retail First-Class Mail, First-Class Package Service — Retail, retail Media Mail, Library Mail, and USPS Retail Ground with a postage evidencing indicia at any postal facility, preferably within the area of the customers’ local Post Office. Zone-priced pieces must have postage affixed to each mailpiece that is calculated to include the amount due as specified in 4.3.1, taking into account the weight and the zone from the ZIP Code of the office where the mailpiece is deposited to the ZIP Code of the destination address.
Mailers must deposit all presorted price mail at the authorized mailing office.
Mailers must deposit all mail not specified in 4.6.3a and 4.6.3b at a postal facility within the ZIP Code shown in the indicia.

The link at the top of the print label page is now gone.  I think we're stuck with this awful new print label page!!!!

I know many say there is nothing we can do but I am hopeful with enough complaining and phone call complaints that they could, if not going back actually make the new one a workable format that is user friendly and efficient to use. Thus far it is probably one one of the stupidest things Ebay has done to date. It is going backwards by decades with the use of technology. Keep complaining!
