Is there a way to go back to the classic label printing format?

I am getting very frustrated with the NEW label printing format. It takes about 60% longer to do the same thing that worked well with the classic format. I counted and it takes me twice as long, more than twice the number of clicks to accomplish the same thing and that is only if it is just first class. If it is priority it takes even longer due to it not letting me update without measuring each package and entering it. It is a HUGE waste of time.

And on top of that, Ebay's software keeps deleting my message to seller and unchecking the message check box. So it not only takes more than twice as long but I now have to type a new message again and hope it is there the next time I go to print a label.

If I were shipping a large amount of items per day it would add a considerable amount of wasted time to the process. Is there any way to go back to what worked well and get off this new ridiculous new format.

You can manipulate the URL to get to the classic postage page:

  • For bulk shipping, replace "bulk?" with "bulk/rampRedirection?to=classic&"
  • For single shipping, replace “new_label” with “back_to_classic

On the top right of the screen there should be a clickable link that says "Go back to classic label format"... I always do that... but I don't know how long that's going to last...

Re: Is there a way to go back to the classic label printing format?

Thanks I'll try that and it also made me think of another possibility. If I go the classic and then save a bookmark for that page but I believe every time I go to print another label it will go back to the newer time wasting one. I complained extensively last night to a CS rep because it is such a time waster but in all their "wisdom" LOL  they won't stick with what works GRRRR! I hate when they "FIX" things that aren't broken

Thanks for the reply. That is what I do now but was wondering if there was a way to make the original the default and then also it may not keep deleting my customer message

The new formats pages are really awful.  Junky, ugly, inefficient.   The information used to be displayed logically and clearly on a single screen (classic format).  With these new formats, there are buttons to hit, or you must scroll around to find the information.  An unnecessary and really annoying change.  Not an improvement.

To your point - many of the new format pages still have a retreat button at the upper right.  Some of them have disappeared.

Great minds think alike must be? I cannot express enough how aggravating there stupidity IMHO is when they just make non efficient changes which as I told them has tripled the time needed to ship each package. Time is money and they are wasting mine. On top of that, it keeps deleting my email message that gets sent to the customer to let them know it has shipped and a more personal message so I have to keep typing it over again. Ebay and efficiency do not go together at all. I hate the new degraded shipping format. It is like going back 30 years in technology

I wish I knew... I also HATE (with a passion) the revised "leave feedback" format... I loved the old style page. After more than a year I still can't get used to the current page...

it's even worst now.  Completely ignores your shipping method and uses Media mail as the first option even if you picked flat rate priority.  No way to go to classic. Have to pick and choose no way to compare on one page.  But the default to media mail is the worst even.

The new shipping page has become my most disliked change. Andrew

Yes, it has a lot of problems including usability, functionality, and features.  This is one area where eBay has a lot of competitors ... if they don't do something with the interface, it could cause a max exodus to these competitors and eBay's profits will be hurt.

I am still able to get it and I go up to the top where it says "tell us how we can improve this page"  I entered the following and then did it again and could probably keep doing it. My suggestion might be, if you can still access the classic one, go there and type something like what I have or just basically in you own words tell them please keep the classic label printer because it works better and is faster and much more efficient.

Mine:

Go back to the Classic label printing format. It takes way less time than the new fiasco which on average takes 2-3 times longer just to print one label. If you print 50 or more labels in a day or even 5, that adds a considerable amount of wasted time for absolutely no gain but loss of money out of the sellers pockets.

I have told ebay cs that I believe they are running scared so they keep jacking up fees and taking more and more away from the seller which takes more away from them but they don't get that part """YET"""" but they will. I told them 20 years ago if anyone mentioned selling or buying online, Ebay was the first thing that came to mind but now that is not the case. It is Amazon and quite honestly I don't like them but they are soundly kicking Ebay's butt. I told them they should stop trying to be Amazon but do what they do well and focus on that and "MAYBE" they will survive, otherwise in five years or less we will all be selling somewhere else because Ebay won't be around anymore.  I have harped on them many times to fix the search so it worked logically and was easy. I feel their search is the biggest problem for buyers with ebay now because people can't easily find what they are looking for so they go elsewhere. I also told them they should focus on fixing things such as that rather than fixing things that don't need fixing I. E. label printing format!
